Ok... I've been working on my RPG that I hope to even finish. I've been working on the terrain a lot, giving it unique terrain and doodads. Now... when I checked my sprites... I noticed at the bottom that it said, "232/250 Sprites Used On Map." I sat there puzzled... I clicked on 'Select All' and I found NONE on my map... Do Doodads take up sprites or is there something I'm missing?

I just opened up SCMDRAFT made a new map and went to sprites, it said 0/250, then I placed a Tree doodad and went back to sprites and it said 1/250, and to double check I added 1 more and it did go up to 2/250. From this I would have to conclude yes, doodads count as sprites.

Ah... yes I see now... Well I just started replacing some of the doodads with the Tileset Index doodads to shorten it... That sucks...

I never cared to use doodads once I learned that they are one of the biggest reasons that sc would crash on me, on LT and Hunters and many other simple melee maps I would crash even sparing against 5 comps alone to test my defense tactics, amongst some UMS, where I know it couldn't be a crash hack. Then playing on maps with no doodads at all discovering they never made me crash.

So, yeah I dont use doodads anymore cept if i need ramps or something, but thats my personal preference.

Why would you crash. Oh and theres a feature on SCMD that says convert Doodads to terrain and it should do it for you but I dont know why you would. Also Pheonix Doodads shouldnt crash you. Something is really wrong with your starcraft if they do.

No It's not that, because it happened on my comp previous to this one with sp2, and this one, and also thanks to idiots using my compo for porn in my house and going to stupid sites, getting addware and spyware, and trojans on my other comp and this one, I've reformated several times, and it happens everytime.

Thats why they have anti-spyware and anti-virus programs!!

Well it could depend on your computers stats... Maybe your RAM can barely support 250 doodads or something... I dunno...

Only some doodads count as sprites, trees for example have a part that does not count as terrain, that part is the sprite, SOME of doodads dont have spitce ( like those grass ones ). The reason is that a sprite allows a unit to walk behind it so it looks like the doodad is real.

I have enough ram to run WoW with a lil ram lag, 512. So I doubt thats the reason, either way I'm gonna stop discussing it before we sart getting into spam about it, I'm trying to keep my posts as legit as possible.
