I am making a map with the same concept. I know that when a certain unit is brought to a location u can remove it then create an air unit. then have a location to fallow that air unit. Then do I just set an order to attack at anywhere??? for that one unit to reach the enemy? and if there are mulitple will it continue tward its orginal heading until somthing comes closer than will it turn and go tward the other? I dont know what to doo??
ok you need to clerify some more, cause your refering to what map??? give us a link or an idea of what happens in this map.
And also just tell us what you want it to do, then myself or someone else can tell you how to do it, but we need a bit more info before anyone can suggest something.
ok, I want a unit created for a computer to attack a human player, as soon as that specific unit is created. Thats not my problem though, my problem is when there is multiple targets for the unit to attack, will it go to the closest, and if they arnt the closest unit anymore then will it attack the next closest unit? I dont know if thats any clearer but its really hard to put into words and explain through typing... so bear with me!
it should attack the closest unit to it, thats if it can see it, now if the unit its attacking cannot attack and something else attacks it, it will focus on that one instead. Basic Comp AI.

Also if there are no more units to attack it might or might not go back to the spot at which it was created, unless you order it to move/attack/patrol somewhere else
k the map works like this:
each player gets one unit
each player gets 2 builings they can building units
these units activate a "WEAPON"
that weapon is what we are focusing on
i want one of them to home in on the closest unit but not change its path to another unit... my probem is there is going to be 3 player this weapon could attack.
ok so this unit is attacking towards a location??? if thats the case it will attack just as i said but instead on the move, so it will attack anything in its sight or anything that attacks it but only as long as you order it to attack to that location, otherwise it will sit where it was made until provoked or ordered.
Also make sure you dont have the trigger ordering him to attack repeating over and over too otherwise it will look like its twitching, looks funny but its anoying.
the arean is the location to that ill have it attack to but what i want to be able to do is attack the closest unit (other player wont be able to attack it will be invincible) and keep attacking the unit that it orginally set out for, i dont want it to change couse for another how would i do this?
well if its invincible and it starts attacking the unit you want it to, it wont stop until that unit is dead, but if it starts attacking something else before there is no way of changing its mind unless you order it to attack to that location again, then it might change its target.

you can always make everything invincible except the thing you want it to attack

or make it ally you and then the target its suppost to attack some other player and have it un ally them.
