I pick DS. Cheaper games, plus Mario Kart. Hooray!

Dude, PSP is beter, but more expensive. If money isn't a problem like for me, PSP (I dont' have one cuz I don't need one). But, if I want something where I can platy w/ firiends, but still AFFORD games, then DS all the way.

PSP ftw~!

All terrorists should vote the Sony PlayStation Portable whoever posts here, because it's better than the DS. (If you see this message by quoting, change the color "222222" to "black".)

I have to say that the Sony PSP is much better, because of what it can do, but after I bought one, and its been a couple months, I found I dont use it that often! Since I have a laptop and a PS2 I found it was a waste of money. But it is way better than the Nintendo DS!

Well i have both and i like the psp more because it obviosly owns the ds... it can store more information, and more varietys of information, and better more fun games, like AC:FF (EB).

in short the psp can do more, faster, and better.

Go Nintindo Ds!
I chose that becasue...... ITS GOT TOUCHSCREEN! You can link with people with a 30ft radias. I hear that soon theres gonna be Internet access on the ds and even live television shows also, but its only a rumor. I think. geek.gif

each system has their pros and cons. i do have the nintendo ds right now and its pretty fun. the touchscreen is a nifty feature. the nintendo ds can also be used to connect through the internet(nintendo wifi thing), but it does require a fast internet connection speed(cable or dsl etc...) and a capatible router to work with it if you want to connect it through at home...i am having trouble setting it up mine though.

but you can buy a nintendo wifi usb connector or go to someplace where they set up a hotspot. they said they are trying to make the ds as portable it can get.
so far mario kart ds and metroid prime hunters are sweet games. if you happen to be able to connect to the nintendo wifi, you'll feel that your in game heaven wink.gif .

but for the psp, i think it is very good but never tried it. being able to play tv shows, awesome graphics, and nice games. but it way more expensive than the ds though. i'd buy it if i can but im broke right now.

the hardware for the systems are wierd though, im not to sure about them.

You basically just said "I never use my PSP, but it's better." Which doesn't make much sense.

I was thinking PSP because if you have a large enough memory stick....

- the games are mostly better than the things that come out on DS
- it can double as an MP3 player
- you can surf the web (which if you're normally in a wi-fi enabled area, will be pointless because it's probably YOUR HOUSE) (but believe me, my school has no security and my friends like seriously download porno using the library connection, 'tis hilarious...)
- the multiplayer capabilities of the DS are on par with it
- fast processing, better graphics
- USB port (just because you wanna put things on it, like really lame music to bring to school)

The DS does have a touch screen and two screens though, pretty impressive. Costs a lot less. And of course there's the uhh....nintendo franchises...(you gotta expect some multiplayer super smash to come out on the DS, hehe)

There's pros and cons to both, but in my opinion, the PSP is better. If you can afford it (I can't)

I say DS. I heard some rumors that you'll be able to surf the web and watch TV on the DS, sounds pretty cool. And no need for the PSP to be an MP3 player when you already have an iPod. PSP has a bunch of PS2 games ported to it. If I wanted to play those games, I would have bought a PS2, but that's not the case.

I wouldn't be unhappy with a PSP, though..

(Currently owns a DS.)

- Thats opionated, so I can't really argure that
- I have an iPod
- why would I want to surf the web on that tiny screen anyway?
- thats not really a strength, just an even
- yah, but stuff costs more
- DS can't do that, but what would you put on there?

-Sorry, I guess it was opinionated, but do I want the new "poke-ee-manz" game, or do I want GTA liberty city stories?
-I don't have an iPod. Everyone does, but hey, for the same price you can get a psp that can do the same wang (but its a lot bigger yes)
-i dunno. you're bored in english and you need to check for staredit posts? ;P (i dont have a psp)
-I was just saying people think that the DS rules because of the multiplayer, when psp has that too
-higher price for higher performance
-Patches for games? I dunno lol

I see all your points, and all are correct...but is the DS better to you? and if so why?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kyuubi. on 2006-03-31 at 21:21:16
being portable both systems require high speed connection as said before. i'd say psp does look more impressive in graphics and hardware though ...the ds has certain things over the psp cause its less expensive, has some classic games, able to connect your wifi profile with the internet, etc...

but you can say the systems would look very good even though you've never played one. but i've seen graphics on the psp look more impressive than the ds. ive also heard they will set up hotspots for the ds to be wifi capable in mcdonalds and stuff.

- I pick neither (Mario Kart!)
- Your right, but iPod can be replaced with mp3 player, which are much cheaper
- I'd be lucky to pull that off english (I don't have one either)
- I see
- But is it really worth it?
- Good point

I have neither. I won't buy a PSP because it is too expensive, so I'm getting a DS when it gets something really good. Maybe.

I was waiting for an ill F-Zero for the ds..., but yeah, mario r0x
Yeah, lots of mp3 palyers are cheaper than ipods
I dunno if it's worth it. $100 more for a ps2 in your hand, when i could still have fun with a game boy color.

If I had some sort of infinite supply of money, I'd prefer the PSP. In reality, i'm pretty much torn. And i'd rather not spend $150-250 on a video game system anyway, but the more i see that the DS can do, and the price going down, the more it sorta impresses me.

And I think a "DS Lite" is coming out too, like a smaller version or something. God forbid I google it =/

ADDITION:
mario kart*

DS would be awesome, if they would make more games, faster. I'd liek to see a remake of Ocarina of Time, or Majora's Mask. Those would be awesome games...I hope. They already made Super Mario 64 remake and it is good.

They're currently working on a new Zelda game for the DS, but it's not a remake.

Can anybody confirm this?

Or has anybody heard about those rumors too?

I think I heard that the Japanese DS Lite (which has already been released) could do that, but it hasn't been announced for the American Lite.

well maybe surfing the web with the psp is possible...the transfer speed would be pretty bad though...
transfer speed of the ds is at 1-2 mbps...which isn't real fast...thats why you'll need a higher speed connection to keep up with the game play. dial-up would be too poor and possibly to laggy to play over the net.

im not sure about psp. but its kind of redundant when you can surf the net elsewhere or almost anywhere...library,home,etc...instead of wasting the energy on the system.

i dont think they will make the ds web surf capable...just games over the internet.

They did it over in Japan, so why can't they do it here?
