Staredit Network

Alright, here is the deal. I am new to the star edit network, yet i have made maps and played starcraft since it came out. Once i have came across your web site, and registered some time ago, i really got interested. But lets cut to the chase.

I make a few maps here and there, and their ok. I do some collaborations with people too, and i find myself pretty good, maybe a bit above average, and will be posting some of my maps sooner or later. But what i really would like to do, is help edit the site, if you will let me. For instance, I've been using photoshop CS2 for a while and can make some pretty nice space and landscape scenes, so what i would love to do would be to make a better background for your forum.

Now, what i would plan on doing is making planet char or something of the sort in the same placement as the planet on the top right hand side of your forum is.

If you do not wish to accept my offer, and grant me the gift of helping you edit the site, then thats fine. But you don't even have to make me an administrator, i can just post the images, or send them to you or anything of that kind, and you can post them yourself.

So please just hear me out on this, id love to help edit this forum and make it as good as it can possibly be; to it's extent.

I thought a forum would stick out more and reach more aministrators then PMing them would, and i hope it will. Thanks for posting anyway...

They haven't updated their banner in forever. But I doubt they will let some new member, or any member do anything with CS.

Plus: There are way better people than you at CS that visit this site.

I think the best thing for you to do is to just send IP or Moose a banner and see if they would like to use it, which I think any member would be allowed to do.

Putting you as an Admin or even Staff is not going to happen.

The best thing you should do is just post...The admins don't know who you are and won't put some 13 year old stranger as admin. We have some great coders on this site that don't request for admin.

I know I want to become in the staff, but that would be hard work. And you being admin, you got school for 35 hours a week like me, so that won't work.

Guys... talking about his age is pretty off-topic and practically spam.

This version of SEN, to me, is "dead". I spend most of my time developing SENv5. If you want to help with graphics on that, I'd appreciate it. I suck with them. I do desperately need something to go on the bottom of the page, and although I got an idea of something decent, I'd love to give you a chance to prove yourself.

There's also another skin, much sexier than the revamped original, waiting to be deployed. That skin needs it's own forum buttons and etc, so there is a lot of graphic work to be done.



Edit: SENv5 will also have the ability to be skinned. Meaning, you could make a completely different look for it and have it selectable by anyone wishing to use it. A minor example of this is the forum icon selection for SENv5. We use the old ones by default (as of yet...), but DEAD has submitted two icon packs. So even if you fail to impress me enough to use graphics on the final release default skin, there is plenty of optional work that can be done.

Firs off you guys, i never said in this post that i wanted to be an admin. I said that i could just have them take a look at my work and i could send them something or make something or whatever.

I never once said i wanted to be an administrator, because quite frankly i dont care that much about having power that much, i just thought itd be neat if i could help editing the site a bit and making it as good as it can be.

I like the graphics you have made, especially this one

but if you are to work on a background for sen, it needs to be something that looks starcraft-related


things like that would go well on certain areas of the site, but not as other things such as a posting background

yes im positive of that, but i can also work with the green thing you have here too, and can make a landscape theme at the bottom too if necceccary, but i can certaintly adapt to the starcraft theme like i have stated before

Ok...You can help with the graphics if it is ok with the staff. But do you mean skins or banners or just help with image coding?

What i would be doing is just plain creating an image period. The image would take the planet on the top right and on the bottom of the forum's place. I will, make it more realistic looking and i hope they will accept that. I will send them the image, and they can code it themselves. Like i said before, they dont have to make me any higher in my rank, id just like to help with the site.

Right now, the best thing you can do for us, as IP already stated, is make new images for SeNv5. The most efficient way that I see it could be done is by having you scan the SeNv5 website and think about where you could add or replace a new image. Just PM or e-mail the image to isolatedpurity (which is doing the vast majority of work in v5) and hope that he'll like it.
