it seems that the majority of the rpgs out ther are half assed maps with a bunch of units thrown onto the map without much storyline or thought. its getting harder and harder to find interesting creative rpgs with the playability of uprising or quests. anyone else feel this way?

Try Deathknights 3. That was a pretty good one.
Also, the next thread down in this forum is an RPG map making contest. So you should hopefully get a good map out of there.

I agree there needs to be better thought out maps!!!

So i guess we all agree that well constructed RPGS should be made

I'm not saying that the other's are BAD im just saying that maybe
there should be a bit more improvements...

Well, they usually start out having good ideas and stuff, but they take too long (as in months) and people get bored and do a bad job on it.

Well, you need time in order to create a great RPG. But what you're saying is that the longer it takes, the less momentum there is to motivate the mapper. I could agree to this, if the mapper does not take the idea of his RPG to heart. But in your perspective, no great SC RPG will ever exist, due to that awful cycle.

Another good RPG I recommend is Faith & Destiny. You're just going to have to be patient. Finding a good SC RPG that is completed is like finding a needle in a haystack. Well, the odds are surely bigger than that, but that's the best I can think of at the moment.

but still, with alot of time, u may lose modivation. YES
but... if you finnish the rpg and it gets a good rating then
they'll be even more modivated the next rpg, and so on

My favourite is Padorath's Return

Yea, Padorath's Return was one of the first RPGs that I've enjoyed. Despite the fact that it was still a rather typical hack/slash and run around RPG with the final boss being the Overmind, there were some secrets that were actually quite fun to get to, as well as active progress of the story as you advance.

mabey i will finish mine, it just feels like hard work because theres like 10 major events to do, the terrain is hot to

anyway try arcadia rpg, its loong tho
(my rpg will be similar to it)

Lots of the good rpgs in maps in production have been heavily overlooked. Ive seen 2 or 3 get pushed all the way to being locked. And the crappy maps that never get completed stay on page 1 all the damn time, is it fair? No. How do you change it? Make friends and have em post in the topic. That's how all them page1 topics are, some start flames too. Sad huh?

Not alot of RPG's these days have storylines and whatnot, it get's very annoying.

sorry to say though Shadow Run RPG is still in the works.

Its decieving, considering there is SO much gameplay to it. Ive been working on it slowly and i will make sure never to leave out details. I'll update my post and re-upload the newest edit of my game.

As for RPG's ive been dying to see an even more advanced map. so i took it upon myself to have not only an RPG, but a actual city able to do side quests, and exploring outside the city. I used badlands as my terrain, but to some they consider this to be a noobs terrain. I have extended most of the entire map and even added a unique waterfall myself. I assure you, when this is complete, i hope i get a couple minerals from SEN. :-)

My favorites are

DeathKnights 3 (it's just great, only lags a bit cuz of sprites )
Resident Evil: X plus (cuz it's hard & progressive triggers & long)
Manifestation RPG (simple to understand & fun)

Or... we can just ask moose to change the directory (or add a bot to auto do it every so often)
