Is it me or are there fifty-thousand cloaked [insert unit name] defenses. I remember about... 4 years ago if I'm not mistaken that defenses started to arise. Today, there may be a few unique ones, but the vast majority of them are really not any different from matrix defense. I'm not recruiting new members into Operation Onslaught with most basic defenses anymore. Of course just like bounds, there are still rare gems amongst the sand such as income defense

Ya, that would be really sweet if someone came with a new type of gaming, maybe we should make this topic in idea to see if more people come to it, named new type of gaming, for people to come up with ideas about a new gaming idea, and what kind of things would go into it!

I have been trying to think of a new kind of map that is different from all the others but all im thinking up of is a huge enormous blank inside the space between my head. Yeah, it's true.

As in, not make defenses anymore, or a different type. And i do agree defenses are the next bounds, all you need is death counters, some moving of bunkers, and create units.
I made a similar topic in the Idea Forum, maybe you can come up with some ideas for a new one, Everyone on Staredit together will deffinately come up with something, because everyone together with different ideas into a map choice will deffinately give more people ideas for this! I hope we can come up with one

alot of peeps are making board games and stuff... such as chess,monopoly etc
i dont think defences are the next bounds... becuz.. defences are just so fun.. if they ever become unpopular.. god may punish me

This really discourages me. No joke.
Ive only made 2 defences 1 of which never made it past a flawed beta. The other was my first serious map project and i was making a sequal. And yes alot of defences are just plain generic 1 trick ponies but i always thought mine stood out. Not exactly stood out but they never looked like other ones. They always had these little touches that only Eva and I could give.
But with attitudes like this it makes me want to scrap it...

Most defenses and games you describe are so poorly designed and completed.
I don't have a favorite defense game because they all suck. Sooner or later there is a flaw and after playing one for a couple hours, just sucks.
The better defenses are much too hard in the beginning or get too hard too fast. The newbie curve is a major factor. And if you want it to be a SENite only map, just make it good... rather, FUn.
Lethal Illusion and I are making a game called Wothen Ball, I would hope to make a ladder/tourney out of it. It is similar to other sports games like Solarball and others but is played 8 player, 4vs4 on a 20x12 map and the controls are extremely responsive. The terrain is done by me and is quite good. I hope to have it out within 2 weeks. It will definitely help the "Sports" genre out alot. Being that Solarball was one of the lowest quality maps I have ever played in my life.
It rivals Sunken Defense, like the first few that came out... simple and newbie, but people really enjoy it.
Wothenball is fun even when its just 1vs1 and only uses the first few triggering systems... omg, just ask people who have played it...
Rantent, Ne.onz, TF-Shady, are just a few who have played the version done in 3 days. We are on like day 4 of triggering and we are very motivated to finish it.
That is why people that make good defenses, like me, make fun games that do not have any glitches and are fun!
true.. i try to make my maps with less glitches possible.. i usualy give up when i the glitch cannot be fixed..

Anyway, most defences are still simply units trying to stop others from passing. End of story. I've been meaning to make a defence that involved more than that, but am busy on other things.
