There are many different groups of players: P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9-11, P12, P13+, Force 1, Force 2, Force 3, Force 4, Foes, Allies, Non-Allied Victory Players, Current Player and I might be missing somthing else but that's not the point.

In Scmdraft you get acess to all these and more.

However, how can a "Current Player" own a trigger???? The current player has not been specified yet. Also for Foes, Allies, Non-Allied Victory Players, how do they know who's foes, allies, non ally victory players to choose from.

I plainly choose not to use them, but what happens if you do? I have been playing around with mapping for a really long time and if there is some BIG thing with these that I have never been using, it would really be nice if you could tell me.

Current player means the player who owns the trigger, it can be shared depending if they don't interfere with all of the other players.

huh.gif Kupo,

Do you have any idea what I am talking about?

I said what if a "Current Player" owns the trigger?? This is different from StarEdit if you know what I am talking about. StarEdit sort of...makes sense as in you a trigger can't be owned by an unspecified player.

Current Player always refers to the player running the trigger. "Current Player" itself can never own a trigger.

If Player 1 runs a trigger he owns, "Current Player" refers to player 1. Likewise, Player 8 can never be "Current Player" if Player 6 is running a trigger that he owns.

Yes Moose, I know what a current player is... disgust.gif

I'm talking about when a Current Player OWNS THE TRIGGER. Don't say it can't happen. Noober's above post CLEARLY shows that in ScmDraft, Current Player can OWN the trigger. In StarEdit, Current Player can't own the trigger which makes sense.

But what happens when Current Player DOES own the trigger.

Triggers usually apply to certain players, and are ran in the order of P1-P8 and then Force1, all of the players in force one in the order, to force-4 and then all players which runs it player 1 through 8, current player in conditions and actions applies to whichever player is running the trigger, foes and allies and allied victory are just that of that player. I don't think having a trigger owned by "current player" will work at all, I think it simply will not run at all. Same with non-alllied victory players, and the unknowns. I might be wrong though. confused.gif

I KNOW WHAT CURRENT PLAYER IS ranting.gif EVERYONE STOP GIVING ME A LECTURE ABOUT THAT!!!

What I'm trying to say is:

What happens when Current Player OWNS THE TRIGGER

Moose said that you can't have Current Player own the trigger. In ScmDraft, YES YOU CAN.

Its just alot of BS Only Players 1-8 can run triggers. Staredit gives you the option of easly selecting multple players at the same time by allowing you to select All Players or the Forces. (at the cost of screwing up how triggers are veiwed)

Player 9 can't run triggers
Player 10 Can't run triggers
You can't run triggers for Players 11, Player 12, or Players 13 - 256
There is no designated foe
There is no designated ally
And there is no designated current player

All these are compleatly pointless, the only reason they were added into the editor is because there is some varable in starcrafts programing that indicates that those ownerships exist. I'm sure it just uses the same properties that the actions and condiions allow you to select. I bet the only reason that is in SCMDraft is so some idiot doesn't say Starforge has a better trigger editor because you can create triggers for "Current Player".

Heimdal said long ago that he included it basicly Just incase something might get discovered using those. I highly doubt you will turn up with anything however.

Thank you Bolt Head, my first intelligent answer. So, I guess I'll just forever never use them until some real discovery comes up.

I'm closing this topic.
