Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Issue with attacking units

Ok, this is rather odd, I don't think I've had this problem before. I have a loop set up, where there are 4 spawn locations, formed in a trapezoidal shape around some odd terrain. Each spawn 4 zerglings, the zerglings move from one spawn point to another, I have it set so that after... let's say 20 seconds they all attack to the same spawn just to make sure none idle. Here's my problem, for some reason, as they do the attack order, they only attack if attacked, they don't attack if no1 is attacking them, they just wander by. Does anyone know why this is? Could you give me some advice, maybe some sort of special hypertrigger or is it something stupid I am missing?

Try using Patrol instead, and have a trigger for the computer to always set humans as enemies.

Well, Either you have them allied to the player you are sending them to attack or try using instead of attack patrol tongue.gif which is the samething just that the go and come back tongue.gif

Patrol is probably the problem. Obviously it won't be as stupid as them being allied to the other player because they only attack it being attacked and they won't attack if they were allied.

the creator said his problem is that they don't attack unless attacked first. If they did attack, this thread wouldn't be here. So they could possibly be allied, after all, allied units do retailiate against you.

another possibility is that they are not in visual range. however, it likely has to do with the sensitivity of the attack order. use patrol instead

No, allied units DON'T retailiate. If he was allied then his units wouldn't ever attack the person at all. That simple. It's probally just because he is using patrol instead of attack.

lol, not true, i've been killed by my white terran computer ally in world of starcraft before as an example, ally units will retailiate, nto all of them though, just the ones that "witnessed" the attack.

you're probly thinking of p12 units, that will never attack. not sure if neutral players do or not

Maybe you are using neutral hostile units which only attack when they are attacked. Check your settings to make sure that all of these things are set onto "computer" not neutral.
