http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=3366 Download Starforge and get it working. Then open your map and go to the terrain layer. Set the mode to Rect and click palette, Scroll through the master palette and find which tile you want to use (or click on the terrain type in the box). Then just start clicking.

You should use the 3x5 standard. I created it. tongue.gif

Basically make every letter in the alphabet fit within the 3x5 box.. Only two letters will spill out of it. M, W and on a small scale Q.

Red2Blue's 3x5 Text Layout.
--------------------------------
O= empty block, X = the letter.

This text works best in 96x96 or 128x128. It works alright in higher map sizes but you risk that warping from such a huge size.

You can do that, or you could put pictures and text in your map without doing anything with terrain. Google SCPM3 and you can download Starcraft Picture Mapper Three and you can load picture files into terrain on your map!

This is defeinitely something you should figure out yourself. Not complicated.

Red2Blue: I don't like how that "K" looks. Just some input.

Course, you could make the text bigger and embellish it slightly. On my maps, I like to make the text look stacked so it matches the units and everything else.

lol that took alot of time to write out all those X's and O's...lol

But more on topic i like to mix it up and make diagnal lookin text with square blocks.

I ussually just do trial and error while lookin in the mini map unitil i get it the way i want it...

Yea... yea... long time indeed.

It was worth it in my opinion.

Yea, that's the smallest you can get it.

Yes, my K is really ugly. But how do you fit a nice looking K in a 3x5 box, hm?
