i know that you can move buildings but is there a way to move them onto invalid terrain?

would disabling it help at all?

If you use an editor like SCM Draft or Starforge, they allow you to place buildings anywhere on the map.

I think he means move in game using triggers.

I'm not sure if this would work, but it might.

You can move buildings into a pile of stacked buildings by removing a building already in the stacked buildings (it can also be done with only one). This might work with invalid terrain.

^Not tested, may not work.^

I think that will still only work if it is on buildable terrain. I know about the stack thing but that can only work on buildable terrain and since those buildings were prepplaced on unwalkable it is ok. But if you can't lift off those buildings and land them again (which you can't on unbuildable) then I don't think that method will work. Which means, you are out of luck and there is no way to do it.

What exactly is this for, why does it have to be on invalid terran?

For cool effects of course. A dock half of land and water could be cool. Think aesthetics.

I wouldn't think disabling it would help at all..

I agree that I don't see much of a purpose to this. Concerning aesthetics, you can always pre-place the buildings, and for function, just use buildable terrain.

it has to do with my map, i'm running out of unit choices and was wondering if i could substitute it with static defenses instead. i needed the buildings to be following the hero unit and therefore needed to be placeable over invalid terrain.

not a big deal anyhow and didn't really think it could be done.
