I really enjoyed it, although i find it extremly repeditive ( like the origonal) , i still thaught the graphics were stunning.

But on some bad notes, i absolutly hated the ragdoll effects on the character, seeing bodies roll down hills at 1/4 of an inch per hour was quite quite annoying, also the fact that there was no gravity ,EG: In combat with bandits, once you rip them up, they would fly up in the air, and slowly fall down, almost as if they were on the moon?

Anyway, what did you guys think about it?

I thought this game sucked...Personal opinion. But the only thing I liked were the graphics. I thought it wasn't the best game ever, but not the worst game ever.

Things I liked:
- Ragdoll Physics
- Traps
- The new skills system where you gain new abilities at certain level of skill.
- Dynamic Conversations
- Radiant AI
- Sneak Attacks! tongue.gif
- Greater quest variety.

Things I disliked:
- The world levels up with you.
- Bandits suddenly gain Daedric and Dwemer armor at higher levels. WTF?
- Lockpicking
- The obviously-designed-for-Xbox-360 interface. By Sithis, let PC users use the other 80 keys on their keyboard.
- Removal of Enchanting, Medium Armor, Short Blade, Long Blade, Axe, Spear, throwing weapons, Levitate spells and all the other things taken out because the X-box 360 kiddies can't handle too many things in an RPG or their heads will explode.

So I think it's a pretty great game. Alot of my complaints about the game can be fixed via mods. I think just like Morrowind, the modding community will add alot of life to this game.

I can't really comment on the magic system, since my only character so far has been a theif/assassin.

And about the suddenly flying up and falling back down thing, I think that only happens when you kill someone with an enchanted weapon. Still annoying though.

Personally, I enjoyed the world of Morrowind more, since it was so... alien and different from other RPGs. Oblivion has a more medieval feel to it, and it has real-life plants and animals, etc. (As well as some fantasy things.) However, when it comes to gameplay, Oblivion wins.

As a side note, it's Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, not Morrowind Oblivion.

- The world levels up with you.

Did you play morrowind? I remember fearing leaving the city since everything was so strong sad.gif.

- Lockpicking

There's a skelton key quest which gives you a key that can't break, so you can just jam X (Or the PC version of autoattempt) over and over again. But yeah lockpicking got a tiny bit annoying at times.

I believe they made it more console based because although Morrowind sold a lot and got a lot of awards it wasn't really noticed by Devolpers and Gamers as a whole. Probably because they don't see PC gaming fitting in with consoles, so they made the Xbox version not suck, unlike the Morrowind version for the Xbox, which froze every few feet.

We didn't ask for them to be removed. So don't blame it on us.

The only complaints I have are:
-The Dark Brotherhood's ending quest, after you beat them all it's so boring.
-The glitch if the game caches up too much information then it takes 20 minutes to load a small house (Which drove me to stop playing the game for a while)
-How you can kill someone in a house at night with no one around but they somehow know you killed them
-Oblivion Gates
-5 Day Reset.

It's called "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", Morrowind is actually called "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind".

I loved this game except for a couple of things:
-faded scenery far away (horrible graphics on mountains far away)
-Very short main quest
-The count of skingrad glitch (do vamp cure and you'll see)
-The money glitches
-the repetition of the same actions

Besides all that, i rather loved this game. Also, we "xbox 360 kiddies" did not wish that upon the game. As a previous poster said, "don't blame us, it was their idea."

There's over 50 sidequest missions not including the Guilds and Storyline. Try talking to people maybe?

I have and i have done loads of them but its repetitive: go slay this vampire; go kill that guy. Find my brother, bla bla bla.....I think there should be some different things like helping out a city from a HUGE horde of attackers.

No enchanting???? sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I remember making really GOD like items with help of that skill. I used +100 enchant for 10 sec items that I made myself. Boosted up my enchant to about 400 and I could make anything without paying huge prices. The best ones were charged rings with damage health magic. Like damage health 100 for 3 sec, kill everything except deadric creatures, they got that damned reflect.

But the GOD like things I am talking about were potions. I boosted alchemy skill(with homemade items) up to 1500+ and got items like "restore health/mana 150 for 1 hour and + speed 250 for 4 hours biggrin.gif

WTF?
Name any other game which has more original vary in quests? Tell me which one of these sound a like:
-Break into the prison you started in and kill an inmate while avoiding a lot of guards to fullfill your duty to an Assain Lord
-Team up with a female Orc Knight who is out for revenge on the killer of her best friend
-Find someone's husband on an island, in order to do so you must find an "Axe" which turns out to be fake. In the end you have to escape from the Island while killing Hunters who paid to kill you for fun
-Follow in the path of a farmer's pilgrimege in order to find out where he is (In the end you kill this really cool demon)
-Investigate a stolen painting in the Castle of Chorrol and find out who stole it from the Queen
-Help a Widow in finding the truth behind her husband's murder and a mysterious "Vampire Hunter"
-Help two brothers clear out Goblins from their farm
-Take part in an Arena match up game where you face lots of oppents in a life or death battle for money
-Buy your own house and furnish everything inside it biggrin.gif

Do I really have to go on. Find any other game out there that has more variation then that.

Runescape, Zelda, Golden Sun. Kvatch was a small battle compared to defending bruma. I'm talking about like the battle of helms deep. That size.

Zelda had 0 Sidequests, unless you count majora's mask but most of those weren't quests they were given to you. I haven't played Golden Sun, or Runscape but I've heard about them and I highly doubt either of them (Well runescape maybe) have as much debth and complexity of these quests.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-04-11 at 20:30:20
Runescape has no plot, just a bunch of random sideplots, which include you talking to characters and/or killing monsters and picking what they drop, to make something that the NPC wants.

And I don't know Golden-Sun either. Dungeon Siege 2 is pretty fun, it has a lot of side quests with depth and stuff.

If I remember correctly, Golden Sun didn't have side-missions

Peoples' graphics cards had a hard enough time rendering one or two enemies on screen. Could you imagine what rendering Helms Deep-style battles with Oblivion graphics would do?

I don't think any game has made a Helms Deep size battled anyway, not even the LOTR games.
