ok basically I've heard of a previouse briefing crash trigg but this one is very simple,
all you do is try to add a a talking character to a slot that doesnt exist, i found this out becuase i thought it was 1-4 slots its actaully 0-3 and my slot 4 would crash game lol
(SF SET)
im not sure its practical use but heck, its a concept right?
So, if you don't click the start button in time, you got crashed? Cool
Whoa thats a killer idea!
I should use it for people that are away from keyboard while the game has already started!
Or just not end your briefings with Wait(99999999);, like far too many people do.

OR, you could crash them for being AFK sonnawa|oitches in the first place? *hi hi*
This concept promotes the crashing of StarCraft. I'm not sure many people would like the map creator who did that. But I have to say JoJo, good idea although it will now be perverted and overused!
I know more methods
Problem:
I press start soon enough in the briefing that it still runs all the actions, but no one is waiting on me. If someone is AFK, I (or people who do the same thing) will crash.
Just do what Moose said.
When I do briefings I like to make them short (ha. I put a paragraph on how to use a single feature sometimes.) and simple.
Making a map crash looks extremely unprofesional and will prompt the crashed people not to play your map again.
Just make a really short briefing and as Moose said, don't put Wait(9999);.
Just because some one is away from keyboard, doesn't mean they should get crashed. In a previous forum, someone asked if there was a way to start the game automatactly. I said no, and he argued. What most people don't realize is that the game starts when the breifings are done in mutliplayer mode. Carshing just will get you a bunch of hate mail or your map being deleted by people.
How exactly do you get hate mail? If you don't give your e-mail address out in your map, how can you get hate mail? Even if you do, they won't see it because they are afk and then crashed.

Hmmm... Nearly all the maps I played have email adresses...

Lol that's true.
But smart idea, maybe il use it one of these days.
Instead, end it with a wait(-1);
And this is old, and annoying. I can't believe it but that was my first submitted map.
What does a negative wait do?
It doesn't exsist, it becomes really big.

Yes I dont think they should be crashed for being afk either
Its like lots of other people said dont set it to a high wait and you wont have to worry about it.
If you're a retard who doesn't know shiz about making maps, then sure, have a wait(9999999) and crash them.
I dont really like the idea of that all it will cause it people to not like your map because they will think something was wrong it. Like a bunch of other people said dont set to wait 9999999 and you wont have to wait for them and can still play the map.
Some people actually watch the whole briefing, too. There's always the chance the mapper threw in a secret at the end because few people rarely pay attention. Even if it told me I was going to crash, I'd probably think the mapper was bluffing and watch the whole thing.

When im bored and play maps on single player I watch the breifings sometimes. Not sure why but moving letters that change colors are entertaining to me lol
No, but I press the Start Button REALLLY fast, before all the windows push in, and then, I'll be "started", but I will still get to watch all the actions in the mission briefings. So if someone was not pressing start, yet I pressed start really quickly, I'll get crashed.
Or people who actually want to watch it?
I think the verdict here is simply not to use them. Just make the briefing short, or end it regularily instead of crashing. People won't want to to wait for the afk player, but the point it would crash them is the same point it would end anyway (assuming everyone else has pressed start by then), so it really makes no difference. If you must have anti-afk triggers, use them inside the map to defeat a player instead of crash their game.
Unless you're cruel like me and crash everyone at the end of your movie map.
