Ugh, I already posted this once but apparently it got deleted. Well, I thought I'd post it up again. Player 14 seems to have the ability to alter gameplay more than any other player. So far here's what I know about P14.

P14 Map Revealer = 2x Game speed
P14 Scarab = 4x Game speed
P14 Interceptor = 4x Game speed again
P14 Scanner Sweep = Strange effects, after 5 seconds of gameplay, every unit is stuck in their last frame and looks like their running in a treadmill, Also if any unit dies under any cirumstances it will crash.

If you find out anything interesting, feel free to add to the list.

Wow, very interesting. Add the 4900 supply max by pylon aura, or whatever that Moose came up with.

Is this 4x speed what Clokr_ used?
If so, mention it's glitchy tongue.gif

For the P14 Scanner Sweep, it sounds like the exact time that the scanner sweep would be done that everything freezes.

More than any you know about. wink.gif

BTW, you might want to mention some more things in there, such as the fact that the 4x's basically screw stuff up whereas the 2x works almost normally.

4x speed (scarab method) makes units not attack enemies while stationary. if an enemy walks by, they will not attack unless you order them to use the attack command. you dont have to specifically lock each unit just wake them up that they are supposed to be attacking.
also disruption web p14 did the same thing as scanner sweep at about the same time.
and units can move so quickly sometimes they can get out of their own fog of war. what i mean is if you select a unit and order it somewhere it may deselect and seem to dissappear and reappear in the fog a little later.

Is there a special place where the unit must be placed?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by iamacow on 2004-07-22 at 06:27:45
The unit must be placed anywhere on the map, unless it's a scarab, then it has to placed over land.

So is the 2x speed stable?
In that case, how cool wouldnt a "Vulture Race Map" be?

Speed.

Of course 4x would be better, but since it freakes out
(my map freaked out 8/10 times i tested it)
its more stable to use the 2x, and that is also good smile.gif

What i really begin to think about is if blizzard knew these
glitches. If so, did they put them there for us to discover
or was starcraft actually meant to go faster than it does
today? Too bad there aint any blizzard programmer in these
forums, not that i think they would give info away just like
that but you could always have asked smile.gif

Thx for the word

well player 14 is a low enough number to hit adjacent data structs in the classes I guess...

When you say that some things increase gameplay by 2x, 4x, etc does that mean all aspects, such as movements, attack, and others? DidnĀ“t that P13 thing only speed up movements?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2004-07-26 at 07:23:18
P13: Only attack and only of preplaced units.
P14 map releaver: Only attack of all units (built in game too).
P14 scarab/interceptor: All aspects of all units (built in game too).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2004-07-26 at 11:26:58
That means everything.
It's like there would be a map setting like thins:
All slow stuff<fastest<2xfastest<4xfastest

actually it's only going to be X times the speed you chose.
if you choose slowest it will actually be slow or fast(i think don't know if normal game speeds go up 2x or x1.)

also on the P14 Scanner Sweep thingy, if u cancel a unit when its being built sc will crash ranting.gif

4x with scarab can be really strange or really normal. I have found placing it in SCM Draft 2 Usually is less buggier than in Starforge. I placed them in the exact same spot. Whenever I try to place it in starforge, I run the map and random things will be cloaked or not moving. but my 4x speed wraith racing map works perfectly normal
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2004-07-29 at 18:07:26
That is not a SF/SCMD2 problem. If you don't place the p14 THE FIRST all the units that you placed before will be frozen and buildings cloaked.

Hmm...the fact on How speed changes and stuff....is it possible to get up to 8x speed or even 16x speed...or further? O_o

And also is it possible to slow down the game like have it on fastest and have like a player number something and the game goes really slow?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Nozomu on 2004-07-29 at 21:20:34
Has anyone tried playing a game on the Slowest setting with a P14 unit in the game? Does it still run at x2 or x4 or whatever speed, or does it just go up to Normal or Fast speed? Has anyone even thought of testing this?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2004-07-29 at 21:44:24
its kind of weird, its kinda like their lagging but their still going fast, its like a little slower then fastest, you should try it yourself.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-07-30 at 05:11:11
That could lead to interesting matches, though the Scarab is a great use when you have to target certain units in a match, rather than all, like Sniper, so that you must use clicks to attack, rather than your Allied button.

Just a little question, what happens if you place a few units before P14 and then the rest after...I can't test since i can't...
