Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> Terrain -> New terrain pieces
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Wilhelm on 2006-04-11 at 23:38:11
As you guys have seen, I've made a few small bits of jungle terrain lately. Most of this work is being done on one map, though no triggers, locations, or anything definite has really been established (since as soon as I declare a project, I lose interest). Right now, I'm just making scenery all over the place, and hoping I can get somewhere with that. I'll post new & interesting stuff here.
First off, a jungle kitchen, complete with a faucet and tables for food preperation. I'm thinking the water could be used to "wash off" a dirty item in an RPG, like a jewel found in the mud, with a hallucination death directly over the water effect. I will add more (shelves, doorways, etc.)

A staircase going from dirt to temple.

Yeah. That little "sink" in the middle looks pretty snazzy. I like the staircase too. How long did it take you to do each piece?

Five to twelve minutes for stuff this size. These are mostly copy and past job anyways.

Not that impressive but kinda neat. Keep it going Wilhelmet!

OMG! That looks nice! Mind if I use the kitchen one in my Godfather map? You'll name will be included! biggrin.gif

Uh, I actually do mind. Considering that I don't want to see the Godfather with Jungle terrain. Feel free to use the sprite bit... I really can't stop you from doing that.

It wont have the walls like that, just the 'table tops' and the 'sink'.

Don't mind if i use this in my rpg? do you muahaha, don't worry its a fantasy based rpg so jungle fits perfectly tongue.gif

Hermmm.... well.... how exactly can I stop you? It's not like I can copyright it. Feel free. This terrain doesn't belong to me, it belongs to Blizzard, it's in the EULA.

I do mind, because of three reasons:
That is flame.
I am a firm believer in free software, and you should know already that your terrain, maps, etc. all belong to Blizzard, and nothing can be done if another player "steals" them.
You specifically stated that your achievements topple mine. I've seen your map. Repetition of blends.

Anyways, enjoy your report, and stop spamming my topic. I've decided to also report Kupo, seeing as this little exchange has nothing to do with rating my terrain.

Update : Post Deleated

Didn't think you would get that upset...
Isom terrain has the same blends repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... I add more variety then that. and I have never repeated the same exact ramp... I am improoving on that aspect as well... I am completely against repetition.

Your post is insulting.

Unfortunately, your style tends to put a bunch of twisting spires all over the map that doesn't really do anything. Also, some of your stuff is kinda pointless. You replace tiles in the terrain structure that basically do nothing.

This is kinda getting out hand. Let's just agree to disagree, and go back to talking about my wonderful terrain. wink.gif

I was confused when I set that to invisible, but it got deleted. laugh.gif

Just stop the flaming.

I have a question. How do you do that wonderfull cliff to ruins blend? I can't seem to figure it out. The bottom peice ( I forgot to rate it ) looks ok, but the fog got in the way of part of it.

Here's the brush, check it out for yourself. I'm pretty impressed with myself.
