I've done that blend before, but nice work finding it. Try making a full bridge next and blending it with high dirt cliffs.

I like how in Kupo's screenshot for the basic bridge blend, the entire right side of the minimap looks oddly familiar to the entire right side of Crescent Dyne? Hmm... looks like my entire doodad database and workshop goin.

Blend that I have used many times on my RPG, nothing new. Wilhelm was the first to find this baby, then I took it. Today is

National Wilhelm Terrain Day.

It's very easy, first get the bridge and get the edges, then scroll up and you will see high cliff end's.

Are you trying to be a copyright monger? Do you claim the terrain is yours under the DMCA?

How do you figure? I said I took this first from Wilhelm...

And I could care less about offical copyright bullcrap... I honor my own system of, if you made it, any1 who wants to use it should ask for permission.

Somethin like dat... but then again, this IS just STARCRAFT.

OMG!? THis is STARCRAFT? I completely forgot.

-.-

Its a little more difficult to blend a bridge into a cliffside of more than one elevation. I wouldn't really call that a "high" cliff. wink.gif

I just started doing a little to Continant #1 and your question wanted me to ask if this is what you ment...

Or do you mean a 2story bridge? Cause that would be lame if you ment that.

Man I love your terrain. Everything has it's place, the scenes always look so natural. I think that it's not just starcraft. I mean if you put hours of work into it and make really beautiful things it's more like art. smile.gif

It's basic, but useful, and this seems new to you so you get of easy. 4/10

I personally enjoyed the first one, it seems to be very useful for certain mapping ideas of mine.

That skill is REQUIRED to make a bad ass terrain, even a newbie like me can make that

My piece took me over almost 100 different tiles to find the correct ruins to find the lines and shade problems. I hope your not refering to mine.

And kupo's is a interesting piece.
I just realized that Ghost- invented this sort of bridge/highdirt back hybrid in his unfinished RPG. If you would like to have a look at that, I will let you download it from me. You two have similar thinkings.

I really like this blend, but it seems to me like the left side of the bridge is significantly higher than the right side, but there was no effort to make the bridge appear slanted(since starcraft is squares put together to make iso, it can be distorted like those paintings of where the staircase is forever going upward.)

it should look something like this;
_
[ \__

and right now, it is like 3 squares/levels high on the left, and then the bridge is strait and then suddenly it is only 1 square/level high on the right... Idk, maybe this is as good as it gets.

Other than that problem, the rest is fantastic.(blending/realism/useful)

Good job.

As for the original piece, i thought the title was misleading and i see now expertise being reflected through it.(though i'm sure that i'm not much better if any, i at least know there is not much purpose. And having a purpose to use an extended terrain piece is 99% of the reason people make/use extended terrain)

Next time you have a couple hours, make something like a bridge over land, or something with more significance. Keep the effort level high, and nothing can get worse smile.gif .

Good luck.

ADDITION:
I guess i missed the ramp tile that you used at the left side at the start of the bridge... Even still, it looks a little awkward... Gl anyways.
