I am a newbie to Staredit Network, but I have been making Use Map Settings maps for a couple of years.
I prefer teaming up with one or more computer players against an enemy team of computer players on a 256x256 map with almost infinite resources for all, as I have found this to result in a longer game that is challenging but not impossible to win.
The last map I made was on a featureless 256x256 sand dunes map with minerals all the way up the left and right edges and geysers up the centre. There are two teams; 4 terran players (of which one is human) spaced up the left side form one team, and 4 zerg spaced up the right side form the other.
The idea is to battle over the gas in the middle (with the value this area higher script to help).
The scenario mosty works well, but...
I played this map with the black sheep wall cheat enabled (as a map maker this is a very useful cheat), and found that all of the computer players were eventually producing units and buildings that require vespian gas before mining any of the geysers.
Resources are set to 50 minerals and no gas at the start of the scenario, so where are the computer players getting the gas?
This phenomenon results in a scenario that is near impossible for me to win (even with my computer allies), because I am required to mine the gas for the more advanced units, but the computer players are pulling gas units out of their proverbial.
Thoughts anyone?
