I've seen it used in a map, though I've forgot what the map name was. The effect is essentially the circle you see when you select a unit or when a transmission is being fired. I'm pretty sure it was in one of Tuxedo's maps, as a sort of flashing confusion effect, probably using transmissions from burrowed units, though I'd like to know if it could be made to show a stable circle when a unit when next to another unit (It's for the destruction of rubble/crates/etc. as in Xenosaga).
I suppose you could just make a location around the Player's unit or something and when another unit able to talk to or whatever is near it, it will activate a transmission, then before it can finish it's first 'blink', send another transmission from the same one to keep the circle on.
I'm, assuming that would work? You may have to try that one out, but it sounds like it should. o.o

Yep, with the right timing of transmissions you can keep the circle from blinking, like Undead-Fox said. I used to do it with a burrowed Lurker.
it's a nice idea for an RPG with items & other objects.
there are sprites for that blinking cursor for that in starforge though it will last forever. the transmission is probably what your probably talking about.
Just remember that transmissions have waits in them and they create wait blocks with other wait.
Then you just give them to a neutral player with no waits.

Do you know the exadct time for it or no? I can test it out once I find my original Starcraft cd and reinstall (our computer got a virus and we had to reboot it).

But you can't move that around

You can do it "always" on hyper triggers and it'll be solid, but that's likely not the best way to do it.
Actually, if you just set the waits in the transmission to a certain thing, and have the trigger itself be constantly preserved, and then use hypers, it should work, right? I don't experiment much with transmissions myself, but I think that would work.
