Report, edit, etc...Posted by Its-That-Guy on 2006-04-20 at 00:29:05
i did the correct triggers to tell the enemy to attack to a location, but they just walk there, they don't actually attack anything in the way or attack they're enemies or anything
did i do something wrong?

If you use patrol, it makes them much more aggressive.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Its-That-Guy on 2006-04-20 at 01:15:03
i did that and they still just walk past my guys, and before i start that trigger they attack my guys

dude, make location bigger and make sure the enemy units are somewhere IN THE location u made, then use attack to location trigger.

NOTE: they will always go to the middle of location, AND attack units IN the location or attacking units that are shooting at them.

hmm i didnt try that, but i know i did try attacking the units while running past me and they didnt fight back, just kept on running

Also have a trigger that makes the computer enemies.....enemies..

yeah, check the alliance settings. be sure that the PC is hostile to you
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Its-That-Guy on 2006-04-20 at 13:00:52
the computer is hostile and always has been, when i bring one of my units up to one of the computers units, they will attack me, but when the trigger to attack to a location starts they don't do anything to me, just walk right past me

and the first trigger i made was:
Trigger
Players:
¤ player 7
Conditions:
¤ always
Actions:
¤ set players 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 to enemy
¤ perserve trigger

Location 1 = where enemy's start
Location 2 = where the enemy's walk to while attacking

Condition - Player brings 1 of any unit to location

Action - Order (move) all of any units owned by current player at location 1 to attack to location 2.

Preserve if needed

i think demaris' method would make it better...ordering it to 'move' to a location , will just make it move to location and the same goes with the order attack. because when you order attack, they don't attack and just move because either units aren't in their sight range or just their ai.

patrol it will make it attack units on that way, just if you have your units on patrol.
just make sure you have the triggers and the alliance set up right.

if not, i'll see if i can make an example test map for you.

Make them patrol to a location slightly beond the place you want them to go, and add another location with a trigger to stop them from getting all the way. This way, they will not go back.

no that doesnt work, i re did all the alliance triggers, and before the comp patrols to the location they will attack me, but whey they patrol to the location they dont attack, just run past me, even if i block them and/or attack them, they dont do anything

Try attaching the map so that we can diagnose your problem.

excuse me if i am pointng out the obvious. i dont know if you know this but plyers 9-12 are neutral and wont attack so if your usng them its a no no.

(i have a feelng that everyone who reads this knew that)
then again i dont use 9-12
and im not sure if triggers would effect them
you know what i just wasted a post sad.gif

*feels stupd with good reason*

im not using those players, using player 7, and yah i already knew that

you've made a trigger to set p1-8 (7 exclusive) as the enemies of 7, but did you make sure that 7's YOU'RE enemy? Also, they're computer players, not neutral, right? You're not using p9-12, and you are using the attack command? If the answer to all these is yes, then, well, ..... i don't know, i'll think of something, never fear! smile.gif

To attach your map: when you're posting, look below the box, below the post options and below the post icons. There's an "Attachments" box. On the left it should say Global Space Left: 5mb and then Information on Attachments below that. Further right, hit the little browse button, find your map, select it, and then hit the "Add This Attachment" button (to the right of the browse button".

ok i attatched my map, all i need to do is fix the triggers and it will finally be done and i can play it on b net for the first time smile.gif

but....the triggers keep messing up

i have 2 triggers, one makes player 1-6 and 8 are hostile towards player 7, and another trigger so that player 7 is hostile towards everyone else, now player 7 will attack ppl before the trigger to attack to location starts, but when that trigger starts and he's attacking to the location he wont attack anyone, just walk past them even if he's being attacked
