I noticed the crap maps that got 2nd and 3rd which makes me think we need alot more participation, I think the prize should be something different like you could have your name on the "Mapmakers hall of fame" or something... Also another thing you could do is only let the maps go in the contest if the author has more then # minerals. Anyway now that you've listened to my ranting please reply.

I don't have anything against this contests I reckon it's a great idea we just need better participation.

P.S. Me and my friends might be sending in maps for the next contest

I thought drug induced halliculations was a pretty funny theme. If only I had the time to map...

Don't blame it entirely on the theme. I was going to make some weird map that my plans were actually cool, but I was just too lazy to map out the whole thing.

I think everyone is getting lazy . If you're a real map maker, you can come up with anything out of any theme.

These themes are absolutely fine. It's not the theme's fault if there's little participation; it's the people's fault. It's their fault that they lack motivation or creative thinking to make a map. Talk about the slowly decaying UMS world...

But what I would like is longer time to make the maps. Two weeks is better IMO.

how about making a theme related with water... you know the titanic, cast away, deep into the blue, war movies.

Most people aren't as dedicated as you to making superb maps, MA. Most people only enter for fun, and when they think the theme is stupid.. 'why bother?'.

Try a theme like 'Ghosts'.
I did have an idea related to that topic.. .

Oh, and any theme that is mentioned, Moose surely won't use them in the next competition . It wouldn't be very fair accepting a theme from someone who will enter in the next map competition, they'd get an advantage.

Well if all your time is taken up scripting and programming than make a program to make a map for you

Unfortunately, Map Generator is only for Melee maps.
