But it is only a rumor. On a podcast website that I only know by the intials of "DBT" there was a podcast with blizzard related that mentioned Starcraft and how "All will be explained" on June 1st. There's only speculation but it brings up the question if people still want SC2 to happen or not.

Its SC2, of course people still want it to happen man! It'd rock harder than any RTS!

iunno if SC will be any good, because WC3 and WoW did so good theyd probably set it out like Warcraft games because thats a big seller. all i really want about SC is better mapping abilities (somewhere along the lines of WC3 map making thing ) better graphics, more units and obviously more terrain. the current SC set up is pretty good but sumdays i find myself coming on SC more to talk then to game....

if uve played WC3 u dont like MASS marines medics or goliaths or lings etc you get a small number of men to fight it takes longer to build up now lets see is it going to be fun to send a army of 5 BC's in to kill a entire base... wont happen.... a more massing like SC is allways better...

Starcraft is made up of 98% staredit hacker-dudes. Their editor is made for hacking. Im sure you all can recall the Warcraft III editor. You cant really hack it, correct?

Anyway, like I've said a million times before, it'll be too laggy, which will ruin the fun of Starcraft. (MASSING!!)

Micro is the funnest part. Massing is cool for awhile, but manages to get boring fast.

Once WoW dies out I think they'll consider creating a Sc2. And starcraft, as it is now is too original of a concept of gaming. Its crappy editor and poor graphics is what makes it original and, a good game. Massing marines, and diplo-like skills is also an original concept for an original game. Which was probably made a ' gold mine ' on accident. I don't think they could recreate the ... originality of SC.

Good ol starcraft, it has aged gracefully. If Sc2 doesnt come out there might be riots; they're probably going to surprise everyone on a massive scale out of no where.

i rekon the problem to making a new sc will be the fact that they would have to balance the game with the new aliens (hybrids)-(protoss and zerg) that came in on the expansion after duran lets them free...
and then they'd have to create new batlle scenes and hole bunch of new tatics and so much....
it would take forever to get that original feel that sc has today..
but if they managed to pull it it would take the place of sc and conqure rts games to date and for a long time to come...

Blizzard didn't make the strategies, the players did!

But still making starcraft 2 has its ups and downs.

1st. It took them 6-8 years to make SC2?

2nd. They already have starcraft ghost in development. The next time we will proboly see starcraft 2 might be when they make Ps4 ,xbox 1000 and nintendo gameplay. (jk) but we all have to wait and see. Who knows they might be working on a new race like a whole hybrid race like Terrizoss Drobes vechicle.

Actually, StarCraft: Ghost has been put on "indefenite hold while evaluating the preformance of next-gen consoles."

2) Starcraft 2 is still in the Storyline process in the Blizzard Forums

wtf... dude SC isnt based off of WC2... it was a new SYSTEM made after Warcraft One. I should quarter you for this disgraceful statement about starcraft...

Warcraft I was a DOS game.

Starcraft was based orginally on the Warcraft II engine, but then was given a unique engine due to difficulties. The engine still apparently has some resemblences to WCII.

If StarCraft II is anything like Warcraft III, I am going to die. Warcraft III is the worst thing (I think) to happen to Blizzard RTS games.

What could wrong so you might only mass with 3 zerglings before the server gets destroyed but hay thats life. jk. But who knows sometimes I feel the massing stradgey gets annoying at times cause the game would be over by then for example. Some hard core guy builds a fleet 34 battlecruiser with yamotoe. BAZING? But starcraft 2 is gona come out right after ghost on SC ghost flops!
But you know what. Instead of making it a game about a girl ghost gona save the world from her mother they could of made it into a WoW format but we will have to wait and see.

I think they're saving the announcement 'till next April 1 so that noone will believe them and they will be able to claim to having announced it.
