IDKFAWIN, KID101SKATER, PSP333, and BUTTERBALLER360 have teamed up to release a proof of concept version of Starcraft for the PSP, currently v1.0 Alpha. Starcraft PSP is a clone of the legendary RTS game, played by millions around the world on PC. Hopefully, soon PSP users will be able to enjoy this great RTS soon!
This proof of concept is not currently a fully functioning game, but it is written in Lua and currently features:
User menu
Working mouse
A working SCV
The team behind making this game promise a lot more functions in the next release, and emphasise that this is not the current version : It's just a proof of concept. The readme says "More will come soon". The next release will have shadows, sliding instead of the current jumping movement, and better graphics. This game is going to be ace, especially for all you Starcraft fans out there!
Lua player is required to run this homebrew gameI'm very excited for this program. At last, we will be able to play Starcraft Anywhere! Maybe you can make maps and mods for it, too when it's completed. It's just too bad that I can't run homebrew on my version 2.6 PSP

Cool. Too bad I don't have a PSP...
I hope Blizzard doesn't get word of this and shut it down...

I myself do have a PSP, so HA! By the way, Voyager... theres probably a big chance of Blizzard accepting this, besides, didn't Blizzard made one for the N64? They could at least accept this offering from a few amount of people working on the PSP version.
Also, this isn't the so called "StarCraft 2" modification for this other futuristic RTS game.
Still, they'd probably have a problem with it, since Sony is making money (PSP sales) off of their product, StarCraft. At least, that was their reasoning for the C&C mod.
I'm going to tell you again, Microsoft (PC) and Nintendo (N64) got StarCraft, why not Sony? Besides, Command & Conquer is not StarCraft, that's why they didn't accept it.
The N64 version was bad, and my Pokémon Snap* sense tells me this will be just as bad. The only port that would work for StarCraft is the DS, it only works with a mouse or a touchscreen. Joysticks/Digital pads just don't do it.
[sub]*That'd be my terrible game sense.[/sub]

Because Blizzard was making money off of the N64 versions, they were being sold BY Blizzard. The Sony version doesn't make Blizzard any money.
I agree with Syphon. DS would be better.
In my opinion, the screens so small (compared to a computer screen) the units are gonna be like .2 pixels by .3 pixels. [/exaggeration]
But still sounds cool.
Unless its cross-compatible with the Blizzard game formats, I am not that interested in it. (I have no PSP, but Lua is not a platform specific programming language).
DS would be the best thing you could port StarCraft too. The top screen could be used for the minimap and unit wireframes. The bottom screen is the actual map and unit actions.
This will be awesome for the overpriced psp i dont have.
Haha, this sounds awesome. Hopefully it isn't ended. And too bad I don't have a PSP :\

Sure, N64 is bad... http://www.gamespot.com/n64/strategy/starcraft64/review.html
QUOTE(That Review)
Though the value of this long-delayed port of Blizzard's excellent sci-fi strategy title may fail to impress PC owners, those who keep their gaming to the television should be well pleased.
The first sentence. I prefer to keep my simulations and RTS games to a PC, where you can see them good. Sure, it may have been "great" to those who've never owned the PC version, but when I had palyed it after a year on nothnig but StarCraft and Red Alert 2 I found thorough and intense suckage.
I own SC N64, and trust me, it was not a very good game.

Nothing near the PC version, but that's pretty obvious.
Awesome, i have a psp and im looking forward to this.
I don't see why anyone would want to play SC on a PSP, its useless.

Amen. PSPs are already such a waste.DS > PSP
they shouldnt put it on PSP, mainly cause you'll be able to play it for an hour at a time before your PSP Dies on you

Why can't it be used on the 2.60 version of PSP? Can't they make it capable with running on the 2.60 version?
4 Hours....And thats with the backlight turned on all the way and full volume.
And this already is capable of running on 2.6 with Fanjita's e-Loader.
