Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Spontaneous unit pop-ups by computer

So here's the deal.. Im making a good old "defense map" with a zerg that runs amok against a terran base (starship troopers-movie kinda thing).

About to make a cinematic intro with some ghosts moving in and dropping some nukes, just to get going with the action smile.gif, but my problem is that the computer player, in command of these ghosts, gets a little TOO intelligent! Im using the 'AI Nuke here' script at specific locations, but this doesn't explain why ghosts just literally pop-up seemingly random places on the map!!?! I only have 3 create-ghost-triggers, and they are not even preserved-triggers in any way!

And the worst is yet to come.. eventually, the ghosts start launching nukes at the base containing the nuke silos!! It doesn't make sense at all, i'm about to quit the mapping business sereously sad.gif

wow... ive never heard of this i suppose this is extremely rare. but idk. is there any way to just not use nukes but you can make explosions by creating and killing units. idk what to tell you

naa.. exploding units don't do the trick... you gotta nuke zerg, we all know that. ( smile.gif )

But seem to remember that i tried a similar thing in some other map, can it be scmd's fault, I really just feel like blaming somebody!!!

heh.. just added a trigger telling the ghost to disappear in the area they're created - PRESERVE TRIGGER ranting.gif

Anyways, how would i make a gost controlled by one computer player be INVISIBLE (when cloaked of course) to another CPU, meaning that they wouldn't attack without a detector present??

Tried setting them mutual enemies, AND turning OFF vision for each other via scripting! They are in different forces...

Is it impossible?

i think you can set unlimited enegry for unit and in propties set them as cloaked.

or if its possible try to disable them

It's not rare, that's what the trigger does. It is designed for the level where you get pwnt by nuked in BW and it does everything there.

In regards to to the ghosts appearing, its part of the AI script, anoying aint it.

To prevent this you must have a computer build the nukes and this computer must be allied to everyone and this computer cant be allowed to use the nukes. So once the computer makes the nukes you give the 'command center' to the person/computer who can use the nukes.

Heres a link to a map I made about Automatic Nuke Making:
