Why not make a map that has to do with unit ranges? Does everyone overlook the fact that the hero goliath has less range than a normal one? Or the same problem with hero ghosts, while hero hydras have super range?
I dunno, have some fun. Make a sniper, a mass; heck, maybe you could make a minigame that has to do with the ranges of units.

Sooo you want an idea of a map for you to make so you won't get bored of it.... I wouldn't reccomend an rpg or anything that is always the same. Maybe a map that can have multiple outcomes, like an FFA where when a different player wins the map does something completely different... I think your looking for some thing with variety, but I know when I'm bored a simple cat n mouse game suffices usally, also I'd try making an impossible map. If you can't beat it you can't even get bored of it can you?

Make one that invloves that ive been thinking of, where the more creep(or spawning pools) you have, the more special units you get, the other players are trying to live for 30 minutes while you hunt them down...

You ever play cat n mouse? I think if some one could spice up that game it would be cool, I'm actually thinking of doing that myself, most cat n mouse games are pretty noobish, but if you add more playable races and extended terrain you could have yourself a pretty cool map. I think I'm guna start work on a map like that, but then again im not the greatest at custum terrain but i can get the point across with limted blockiness. So maybe we could work together.

A movie map that progresses quickly and is actually funny. It can be about some super white crackers who think they're black and go to the ghetto. Yah, that would be pretty cool. Make it start like Cracka Please. That would be hillarious.

Make an advaned Cat 'n Mouse game. I like it.
But change the theme, the cat and mouse theme got old... like 5 years ago.
It could be like vampire hunting, an underwater map where sharks hunt fish, or kind of like a jail break, etc.

Make up your own sport. Make it very detailed and spend time on it. Make the game very flexible and customizable in game, such as you being able to select the teams, choose the game mode, select the game objective or points to achieve and so forth/
