Introduction

This is a RE style map, similar to starship troopers.  I've always loved those types of maps, where it was you and a bunch of buddies behind 3 walls of supply depots, but they were always nubbish, buggy, and horribly imbalanced.  What PotU has to offer is a much more professional version of those maps, with some cool features thrown into the mix.

To play the map, it is recommended to get all 7 slots filled, since each player guards a pathway into the "fortress" (see screenie).  There are 15 levels of zombie carnage, each more difficult than the last.  The more kills you get, the more stuff you can buy, and there is a counter so that you may one-up your buddies.  The only objective is to survive.  To advance to the next level, kill all the attacking zombies; an exception is the last level, where you have to survive for a minute and a half while several million undead batter at your door.  The Sacrificial Pit is located above the center of the fortress, where combinations of units brought to the pit fuse together to make a more powerful soldier.  Feedback is always welcome!

Features

-Player Interface
Wall yourself in, ready your siege tanks, and hold on to dear life

-What's new in your map that others have not done before?
-kills = points (civs).  You may spend points to get some cool units not available for building
-sacrificial pit recipes.  Combinations of units will be fused into better ones, allowing for some experimenting and such.  I'll be adding new recipes with each update while simultaneously revealing the older ones.
-lots of upgrades, unit options, etc. for strategic flexibility

Future Versions

PotU will be going through many updates, because I want to add some new features that will hopefully enhance the player's experience.  Here are some things to expect:

•Perfect balancing  ohmy.gif (as in not too hard but not too easy)
•Difficulty settings
•New Sacrificial Pit recipes
•More zombie types
•player suggestions... if you think something should be in this game, say it!

Id say screenies are for maps not yet completed, why dont you just DL it.

Looks good, plus i think your right, they are quite fun but always either impossible and buggy

I updated the look of the map description... now it's a little easier on the eyes as well as conforming to popular formatting! (mostly just an excuse to bump, though)

XD Shut up about my old map. tongue.gif. Yea I kinda used the whole civilan thing, allowed the player to go out and find them too. And I had rearming weapons. I gotta get Zombie Outpost on here some time O.o

Anyways, the good old PCX file type. Go to IrfanView.com and dl the program. It can read PCX (StarCraft screen shots) and save as Gif or w/e! biggrin.gif

Can't wait to test this baby out though ;D

beta2 is almost complete (difficulty settings are giving me problems; I might just scratch it pinch.gif you can help me here if you can find it in your heart)

This isn't a small update, as I have balanced out alot of the units, added a bunch of pit recipes, balanced the terrain, lots of bugs squashed and a ton of other minor tweaks. Hopefully the next version will be finished by the end of this coming week, but no promises smile.gif

And now you may build starports

EDIT: added more info
