When I have a trigger saying give Nuke silos owned by p8 to p7, it doesn't actually happen. Tried using the the give-trigger on several other units, with success... but doesn't seem to work with silos!?!?
Has it got something to do with the AI stuff? the cpu p8 is set to run a Terran Town, while cpu p7 has shared vision with human players, and is set to use the nukes at a given occation.
Does player 7 have a start location?
i think nukes are owned by like players 8+
He meant the nuke silos, not the nukes themselves.
mm.. Tried making the trigger as vertasile as possible, like giving all nuke silos by all players anywhere to p7.
Still not working...

If its not connected to anything, its owned by player 12
Or if you use special editor you can do what you want to orginally wanted to do...
Using scmd and noticed how addons are allowed to function independently. In the usual game, when an addon is left it just turns light blue, meaning it has gone over to p12....
Hmmm think ill just find some other solution.. don't wanna bother you guys anymore

Make sure the trigger is actually firing too, by adding a display text action or something like that. I don't know of any reason the give units trigger wouldn't work.
How to give an attached nuclear silo from Player 1 to Player 2:
- Give the Command Center (which has the Silo) to Player 2. The Silo will automatically also be giving to Player 2.
- Remove the Command Center for Player 2, the Silo will still be there
- Create the Command Center for Player 1, the silo will still be there (for player 2)
I just tested this.
So the Command Center was just reclaiming the Silo?
That's the only way I think. As far as I know (or remember) building attachments don't 'give' like other units do.
It's probably one of those half-hearted things Blizzard did on purpose to enforce something or other in the game, just like with staredit's removal of all non-race's units when changing races or blocking CCs and such from being placed too close to resources, etc.
I never understood why the editor won't let you place units for multiple races but game will (with triggers)
Blizzard: "Nobody will think of doing that!

"
enable dodadd state on all of them when you do it if theres no CC attached
well the nukes are pretty much owned by you. they take up supply and all. in the xtra editor alternative mode, you can place addons player owned.
probably the only way to give it thru triggers is what daedalus said, is give the base building connected with it. it goes with the other addons as well.

I don't think that will do anything.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought silos (that only work with connected buildings) were always owned by p12, no matter who can use the nukes inside. I had always thought that you could pre-place the add-ons to be owned by the individual player, for which they won't need a command center, but that if they are p12 owned they stay p12 owned even if you can build a nuke out of them and use them.
Try giving the command center instead of the silo, that'll do the trick. Unless there are no cc's, for which I would recommend using p12 silos with ccs instead of p8.
If my view on add-ons is hideously wrong, inform me, lol.
Fritfrat, someone already said to give the cc. In fact, this topic might as well be closed, his problem has been solved...
