I'm watching the Sony E3 press conference on GameSpot and it looks like the PS3 just totally ripped off the Wii's distinguishing feature. It didn't look like it could sense how far you were from the television, but it definitely sensed motion.
Are you missing a picture or something?
Explain a bit more?
Well, they changed the controller from the batarang to a more tradional-looking controller, but it has six degrees of movement sensor technobabble something or other.
I get the feeling someone's going to sue. :/

Don't forget the analog stick. They stole that too.
It can only sense motion. Plus not to many Developers will probably use it. They also gave up rumbling for it cuz of this to.
Anyway the revolution's controller can tell where it is, any tilt, where it's pointing on the TV, etc...
Sony can only tell if it moved to a new location.
Ontop of that the revolution also has extentions and they are fully capable of detecting where they are to. For example the Numchuck extension has the same sensing feature as the main controller.
Ultimately, developers will want to make a traditional game on the PS3, and most will not utilize the paltry motion-sensing to any real extent. The Wii will get all the inventive motion-based games.
