Staredit Network -> Games -> Disappointing Games

Name every game that you were disappointed by, there is no right or wrong answer, you can tell the reaons why you were disappointed from it.
  • Quake 4 - I was so excited about this game, but as soon the reviews reports the game with not 360 standard graphics and framerate problems issue for the 360, I lost my hype.
  • 50 Cent: Bulletproof - Finally a shooter game with rap music, but sadly they didn't do much work in it when it was rushed quickly.
  • Splinter Cell: Essentials - A Splinter Cell game in the PSP with poor graphics, but it has the complete storyline of the Splinter Cell series which is good.
  • Serious Sam 2 - I was a fan of the old Serious Sam, the first encounter and the second... but it appeared not to be funny and has strong auto-aim.
  • More will be listed...

They called it FFX-2.

I called it "a pervert's dream".

Devil May Cry 2
Dante WILL Whine 2.
fortunetly, they patched that wound up with DMC 3.

Actually, quake 4 did have 360 graphics and most 360 games use its graphic engine. Just cause it says some stupid crap like that in a magazine, doesn't mean it isn't an excellent/great graphical game. For instance, most movies are usually rated extremely poorly but turn out to be great movies and some movies that are rated moderately high seem like poor ass movies.

Well I'll post some for now and edit it later..

-Final Fantasy X-2 - The sole purpose of this game was to see the complete ending of Yuna and Tidus. That was basically taken away when you had to get 100% completion. Only hardcores will do that and the rest(*cough* golden and I *cough*) will look it up on google.

-Star Wars KOTOR II - It was rushed. Too many glitchs. You do the math.

-Final Fantasy 8 - Bad story, bad gameplay, good graphics. bad combination.

-NHL 2006 - Sydney Crosby wasn't in it tongue.gif.

What a joke. They were wearing skimpy clothign but it's not like they were bending over and making porn refrences all the time. It was a girly game not a creepy game. It's not like every few seconds Paine would dump water on Yuna and Rikku would put a towel on her chest and rub up against her to "dry it off" while making moaning sounds.

Gamespot is a magazine that's updated every day instead of every month, and it's on pixels instead of paper.

Games that suck:
-Max Payne
-Driv3r
-Dynasty Tactics 2
-Rachet: Deadlocked
-Samurai Warriors
-Medal of Honor: Rising Sun
-Enter the Matrix (Though still fun while it lasted)
-Shadow of the Colussus
-Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
-Far Cry

Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter

Disappointing as hell to find that the game was entirely geared toward multiplay.

Not only that (because the expansion pack remedied that) but I was expecting something more of a selection of fighters.

I think I'll add more to my list of games to be dissappointed in now that I'm at home.

Dynasty Warriors 4 - Basically this game was fighting to the other side of the line, not very stratistic. It was the start of DW getting 'old' as you could say.

Kingdom Hearts - Honestly was this a Square game or a Disney game? Ya it's still a good game but its highly overrated. And while I'm at it I'm gonna go around with some giant key and kill people with it. Honestly at least make the weapon abit realistic.

Pokemon Saphire - Come on, think of something new if your gonna continue pokemon games, seriously.(*cough* online pokemon game would be a nice start *cough*)

GTA San Andres - I can't say anything bad about the game, I just didn't see the next GTA like that, I expected more.

Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children - First, I know its a movie but what the heck. Way to short, should have been a game. Could have been alot better. Still very enjoyable.

Oh and Cnl.Fatso you are a 'ubernerd' tongue.gif

Golden Fist. I called it "pervert's dream" because that was what stood out the most to me about the game.

I never mentioned anything at all about pornography. Nor was I speaking of ONLY the three girls.

Rikku decided to lose more clothing, S.E. wanted a manly woman (Paine), and Yuna has a HUGE identity crisis, and decides she needs to do like Rikku (After all, you hear her copy riku during the game).

How about LeBlanc? Or Brother. Whenever he talks he begins to touch his ass repeatedly or break out into a dance routine.

Yuna had to send people to paradise, she had to dance and make their dead souls go to the Farplane.

Tell me, would FFX-2 Yuna even consider that?

But let me elaborate some more on why it was totally blown.

-No storyline. none. They figured they could pull off a little plot of Yuna seeks Tidus. It sunk like the Titanic.
-The game was awkward. It was weird in parts where it should have been serious or focused, and it even weirder during the "funny" scenes.
-Too easy. Vegnagun was about the easiest final boss in any RPGs that I've played. But the challenge lies in Via Infinito.

There's a few reasons.
The great foundation of FFX, and the great elements it had, have been shattered by a failed master piece.

It had some good things about it though. The battle system was good, and the wide range of missions and such was cool too.

But after the huge success of FF-X, this game doesn't disappoint as a game.
It's a disappointment to the whole series, and to FF-X.

Call of Duty 2 - obviousy geared towards console gaming instead of PC, which Call of Duty has its roots in
Halo - Generic as "your mom" jokes gameplay
Jedi Academy - You don't play as Kyle Katarn

Yeah I know that game sucked. But it wasn't that perverted, it just sucked. They should've released it on the gamecube, cut out the tiny story there was, and made a party game.

Yes, True Crime for NY isn't that great, LA is old and GTA has poor graphics. I only said that "Finally" because 50 Cent is one of my favorite rapping artist.

If you don't even know who made the game, I REALLY DOUBT you have even played it. So please play the game before you judge it, you're entitled to it, but when you go saying a game is bad since everyone else supposely says that and you haven't even played (which I assume from your lack of knowledge of the game) then that's just being idiotic. The game isn't about realism.

X-Men Legends: The story wasn't really motivating and the AI was horrible.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Revelade on 2006-05-10 at 03:58:32
Er, he still is entitled to his opinion. However, you might want him to clarify what exactly made the game suck.

Anyways, I agree with you on X-men Legends. Walk around, mash attack button, repeat. O yea, your heroes die easily because potions are hard to find and the only person with health regeneration is Wolverine. So I spent hours beating the first level. Then I come back to the X-base, thinking I could relax and explore the mansion.

Then I talk to one mutant and he tells me about a flashback and suddenly I'm on a mission again (crap). So I have 4 guys and I'm told to destroy Sentinels. Sounds easy right? I found out the hard way. I fought with 3 of my mutants and all of them died. Why? Sentinels kill your guys in 3 hits. My last guy is wolverine and the great part is that he's a melee fighter.

Random missions, lack of health, repetitive gameplay and a boring plot caused me to sell this game.

Now I'll go on, but be warned for I have very specific tastes.

RE4. Looks good, sounds okay, but the gameplay and plot suffer. Gameplay is running around killing stupid enemies, looting items, etc. Story is a generic save girl from evil guys and kill the evil genius. And guess what, the area blows up at the end. Predictable.

SSBM. Looks good. Sounds better. Story? I wasn't expecting one from fighting games. Gameplay... Let's just say that the factor that makes Starcraft so great does not exist here. The factor of course is balance. Speedy characters like Marth, Fox or Falco have a serious advantage against fighters like Bowser or DK. Then there's wave-dashing and all these tricks that people found out. Therefore, if you fight someone who does them and you don't know how to do them, you lost already.

Ikaruga. Level 1 = die 23498234 times. Level 2 = die 239482934 more times. Repeat until level 5 and... that's it. Game over. I don't understand how harder = funner. Oh and bring your friend over for some 2 player action. Chances are, he's never played this rare game on an already rare system, so he's going to die 23482394 times, while taking your lives, since lives are shared.

Halo 2. Now Xbox Live might be great and all, but for the majority of Xbox owners, you won't have the chance to try that heaven. Instead, you have largely the same game as Halo 1, with a shorter campaign mode, a cliff-hanger ending and a lack of features. I mean Time Splitters has bots, mapmaker, dozens of options. When playing with the campaign, it's medicore. When playing with friends, either they are as good as you are, or it's boring. Only when it's online, can I really say it's fun.

Most RPGs. I can't understand how people want to spend 50+ hours with this boring battle system. Choose attack, watch, watch some more, repeat. Choose item if you need healing, run if you are weak. I can stand turn-based games like chess or other board games, but it's because it's challenging. The best choice of action isn't so obvious like in RPG games. The AI in RPGs do the same pattern of actions, making it just a time-filler. I'm a fan of games that have you and your enemy on the same grounds, instead of you (level 34) against the enemy (level 13). I mean it's obvious who's going to win. Note I said most, not all.

Star Wars Battlefront II: Space combat is good... ground combat seems to be about the same as the first one. Never really got into any of the maps, and lack of flying vehicles on ground maps kind of hurts. (Especially Geonosis). I just found the 1st one to be more fun.

Age of Empires III: No idea why, just didn't get into it as much as the the other two.

Every Pokemon after the originals: The originals were interesting and had a fairly unique gameplay. But after that, Nintendo just pushed out the same old crap with one or two new features. ZzzzzZzzzZzz...

No, of course I've never played the game and I have no idea that Square made it[/scarcasm]

Don't make assumptions I've played it and #2 I got bored of number 1 from like the start and number 2 was just screwed up.

The reason I don't like the game is because of how unrealistic it is. I know pretty much every game is fiction but at least put some realism in it. OOOOO lets go around and fite ppl wit my giant key and while im at it ill get my friends goofy and donald to hit ppl wit their magic and a SHIELD! While im at it im gonna go look for micky and call him my king cuz im just that gullable.

I liked the gameplay alot and the graphics were pretty average but I absolutely hate the story.

I'd rather you say that then make a stupid joke about the game. tongue.gif But like I said, Kingdom Hearts isn't about realism, and much more games are deserving of "over the top." (Loved the story.) Anyways, on to more games I don't really enjoy.

Mega-Man X: Command Mission - This game I was looking forward to, but the battle system is really dumbed down, and I rarely had trouble on any boss (exception to one). Story wasn't too interesting, and really, just wasn't that great.

KOTOR II dissapointed me greatly. After loving KOTOR so much, it was terrible to see such a good concept be less of a good game.

1) Too much was brought back (Insert whole game here)

2) Too easy (Even easier than the first)

3) Poor story (More force bonds? Seriously...)

4) Glitchy (Lol)

5) Too much was brought back (Forcing the point onto you)

6) Etc.
