Along with four other cool characters, a dark version of kiby, Pat (The Angel), Samus in a different suit (you can see her face), and Wario. This is totally awesome I'm buying the Wii solely because of this.
I'm just wondering how they got the liscence.

I didn't want to bring in a lot of real weapons. So that was a real challenge. But conversely, if we could use things like rocket launchers and other explosives, not only would that be fitting for Snake, but it would work for the other characters. But who knows. Maybe Snake will exclusively use explosives throughout the game."
Sakurai said the decision to include Solid Snake when Hideo Kojima himself practically "begged" to include the Metal Gear character in the last Smash Bros. game. When asked about the possibility of Sonic the Hedgehod appearing in the game as well, Shigeru Miyamoto said: "There are probably possibilities for other third parties as well, and it maybe that even know there are corporate discussions going on about including some of these other characters."
Even better, the game will be fully online playable in addition to featuring a robust multiplayer mode. "My plan is to include Wi-Fi connection compatibility and online functionality. One of the primary reasons Super Smash Bros. Brawl was created was that Nintendo, when taking Wii online, wanted to have Smash Bros. to do that," added Sakurai.
The bad news is that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will no longer be a Wii launch title, but will instead be released in 2007.

Woops, I made a topic about this a few seconds ago, i'll go close it now.
I just watched the video and wow, it looked super cool with the flying around the the big old blasts. It looks liek the single player is a little bit more story based and some of those battlefields are cooler.

Wii + SSBB will set you back anywhere from $200 to $250. Wii = 150 - 200 Games = (likely) 50

Except there is one factor we all missed.
How are we gona fight with a remote control and a NUNCHUCK.
just kidding it looks sweet but theres only 2 charaters i dont feel are not gona match into the story. Snake and pit. How fun is it when someone shoots arrows at you to death or whips you or get snipered from a distance. Well guess we have to wait and see for this brand new smash game. That's why you read the quote.
You don't use the Nun Chuck and Remote, it's not supported in the game. The revolution will have Gamecube Controller ports (GUESS WHY). So you'll be using the gamecube controller instead.
Pit is a Nintendo character and fits in fine, i'm glad they added him. People didn't know who Roy or Marth were, but they worked too. The only exception is Mr. Game and Watch, who was a horrible character. And all those pokemon? Pichu, Mewtwo, Pikachu, Jigglypuff? What bullcrap.
Snake (IF YOU READ THE QUOTE) is not using guns. He uses CQC and other fighting moves, and he uses rocket launchers and grenades (Like samus) so he'll fit in fine. I just want to see other new people. Let's all make a list of people you want to see in this super smash bros and who you want to keep:
Who I want to keep:
Everyone but: Mewtwo, Pichu, Jigglypuff, Dr.Mario, Mr. Game and Watch and Luigi (Unless they give him new moves)
They should just end up having everyone in the game
Who I want to see (Liscenes don't matter):
Jak and Daxter, Shadow or Sonic, Mega Man, and Oilmer, not sure about that though.
Some new items I'd like to see would be Pikmin people, and Fludd, that's all I can think of

Pit was that guy who shot the arrows in the video. Wii has gamecube controller ports and it will be backward compatible with all gamecube games.

Ah controller ports as much as i can say yes that will boost up maybe the wii's popularitie but common its suppose to be new controller for new systems exception is playstation series but still its not gona be in the game of it

edit: Also out of curiosty I first thought that zero suit samus in the trailler was "Nova" from "starcraft ghost" for a second cause they sorta look the same in some sort of sequence?

The ports are for backward compatablity and certain games. It's now like all the games are made to fit the Gcube's controller as well.
And Pit is the guy who got his dick cut off in Link's Quest For Ass 2. But you wouldn't know anything about that...

Xbox 360 doesn't really have a new controller. It is altered, but not new. Also, SSBB is the first game I know of for Wii to use the GC controllers.

Actually, thats not a dark version of kirby. In fact, it is one of kirby's friends that helps try to stop that duck with the sludge hammer. He is kind of like batman.
