I personally don't see why girls wear them. They can't be very comfortable, since you have a wedgie all the time. I don't see why guys like them either. I don't know if it's just me, but I would rather not see someone's but crack. The ass isn't a body part that I treasure...

They probably are not as comfortable as the "normal" ones, granny panties? Mostly it is so you aren't a "loser" that is why you wear thongs. I really don't know so don't get mad if my assumtions are wrong.
