Back again for another run, the monthly contest. The idea is to set a common theme and a bunch of rules and judging criteria tailored to it. The winner is the one who makes the best map featuring the theme. Now, I'm not asking for anything big or extravagent, because you'll only have one week to make your map. Maps will be judged by me or anyone I deem fit to judge the maps.
May's Theme: The Ocean
Hopefully this does better than last months. Basically, the map has to involve the ocean on some level. This could mean you're a fish in some type of RPG, going out fishing, or some villian stealing all the water out of the ocean because he's really thirsty - the theme is very open so use your imagination.
Guidelines
» Must be an original map not made prior to the contest. Steal a map or send in an old one and I'll eat your children.
» No map dimensions larger than 96x96.
» No map over 500kb.
» Any number of players acceptable.
» No team projects.
» No modded maps (SCMLoader, etc).
» You may submit up to three entries, but only the highest scoring entry will be placed and recieve a prize.
» No entry fees.
» Feel free to protect your map. The playing end will be emphasized more than the creation end.
Maps are no longer being accepted. The deadline is over.
Judging Criteria
Theme (10) - Obviously this is the name of the game. If the map isn't even remotely related to the theme, it won't score very well. A map scoring 0 on this won't be graded further. Something that looks premade and just custom fit with a few text messages won't score very well.
Fun (25) - Important for me as I'm playing the map. Am I running around having a good time, or watching a unit talk to itself in a movie? Are there huge bugs that prevent play of the maps? If I ever go to this map again, is it going to be to play it with friends or to delete the scm/scx? This is probably going to be the deciding factor in contest entries.
Aesthetics and Professionalism (15) - Did you use one type of tile and no text color? Are there mispellings distracting me at every turn with some poorly made triggers? Hopefully you can create something that looks and feels decent. I'm not asking for extensive extended terrain or hundreds of sprites, a map with a unique feel to it should score at least an easy 10. On the subject of professionalism, please PLAYTEST your maps before submission. Nothing looks dumber than a map that obviously hasn't been tested.

Yeah, you thought I'd just make you do this for fun? Prestiege? Honor? HAH!
First place: 600 minerals
Second place: 300 minerals
Third place: 150 minerals
Noteworthy Mention*: 75 minerals
*to be given at my discretion. Nobody has to win these.

Simple way to include theme in your map: put it in twilight terrain and say your at the bottom of the ocean...GG owned no RM.
