As the topic title and description states, do you want to see a new patch for Starcraft soon? Yes or no, and why.

This is regardless of how little the patch will fix up Starcraft.

I am primarily the deciding factor of the patch, so I can either keep what I'm hiding to myself, or release it based on what your views are.

Omg if only Deathknight knew about his predecessor and the new ways of the patch!!!11(sarcasm)
Yes do it, it is always fun to see a new patch

Absolutely not. We wouldn't want poor DiscipleOfAdun to have to find all the new offsets for FireGraft. sad.gif

I just want to know what you're talking about.

No new patch, though, I feel bad for the modding people smile.gif

So... Are you going to tell us smile.gif

Just keep it hidden and release it to all your close ones, by the way. It's awesome.

No, he's saying that he can do stuff that Blizzard doesn't want him to do, so if he does it, they'll make a new patch, so he can't do it.

He doesn't work for Blizzard, but he's the cause of a few patches.

Multiple patches? I thought it was just EUDs. What else has he done?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by L-inspecteur_Chocolat on 2006-05-17 at 16:19:55
I was a contributor to the "worker >> muta" hack, and branches from there(including the mineral hacks out now). I caused Blizzard to also make two sub-patches, patching EUDs, and the other to patch EAS(Extended Alliance Status).

I've just come across a couple of other methods recently.

I'd do it, someone else will find it eventually anyway, its better to get things out and patched as soon as possible, rather than letting people with patch 1.13f (or whatever were on now) dependent projects loose everything in a few months when someone else figures it out.

Actually, there is no point of making a new patch.

Why you ask? = RANDOM VOICE: I didn't ask = STFU, anyways...

when 1.3f first came out, i went to google and typed in STARCRAFT...
on the first page, i saw a site called bwhacks.com/net (4got) i went
into the site, and it said SC: BW: 1.3f hacks here!!! so i went in and
saw: MINERAL HACK, 3 STATE MAPHACK, SUICIDE, a program called
INHALE, STIGMATTA, DAMNINATION, u name it, its all there

do it!!

there's doubtless other people that aren't as nice as you using these exploits already but keeping it themselves

-- Ive seen on other forums that people are still encountering hackers in games too, battle net is no way safe :/ I know for a fact there is a working map hack for example, i had someone totally ruin a fun match of The Thing RPG with that sad.gif

lol so this was what you were talking about on MSN. I would say try not to release it public because people want to still use it but if it gets too public then it will be patched.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-05-17 at 18:42:37
Is it so bad that Blizzard would patch it? Can you atleast hint at what it is? Will it be something as big as EUDs?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Urmom(U) on 2006-05-17 at 19:00:44
It will allow for similar effects as EUD's.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-05-17 at 19:16:47
Will it allow for full effects of EUDs, or just simmilar ones? Is it possible to transmit a virus through this method?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Urmom(U) on 2006-05-17 at 19:28:45
I'm not exactly sure, full testing hasn't been done yet.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Wilhelm on 2006-05-17 at 19:44:55
If it is potentially dangerous, email Blizzard with information.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by L-inspecteur_Chocolat on 2006-05-17 at 20:23:56
Let me just get a point across.

Emailing Blizzard would do absolutely nothing. I could literally tell them how to patch a problem, and they will not patch it, and possibly never respond. They will only patch something if it becomes a problem, Ex: EUD widely spread, etc. This is a known fact.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by xMCx on 2006-05-17 at 20:27:16
Sure, go ahead and make them patch it. It will be nice to have a few days with limited hacking, after they make the patch. Just maybe check and see what projects are using 1.13F first. Another 1.13 patch would be funny though.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Dark_lunatic_K on 2006-05-17 at 20:31:47
Dude release it, it's gonna take Blizzard a while to fix the problem because they probably don't care too much about SC anymore. PLEASE RELEASE!!! w00t.gif
