Maybe later.
Ok, the best ways to make beach terrain, that I can think of.
You cannot get rid of the cliff part of the beach once it goes below the water without it looking blocky, from my experience. (aka. doodads don't blend with the cliff terrain well)
Taking that into consideration, the best two ways that I can think of is using the way where you have the ramp doodad, cut off with the lighter part of a river wall.

The other way, uses the same style, but using bridge tiles instead of ramp tiles, leading up to the shoreline of cliff tiles. I'm sure there are others as well that blend with these parts.

Yes, you can't remove them. But, I was experimenting a while back and there are several blends that use 2 tiles instead of the usual 3-4 for dirt > water, giving the impressions of shallow water, or lower ground. Used right you could blend with traps to make a beach.
