Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-05-30 at 15:55:05
Last night, I bought a glowy name for 2k, leaving me with for mins. I then posted a few more times, bringing me up to around 15(or was it 8). As of posting this, I have -4. I checked my warn log and most previous posts, and there is nothing to indicate a loss of minerals. I know it isn't that much, but I just want to know where they are.

I'm pretty sure they wen't to deleted mineral land. Unless there are no notifications of a staff member then something went wrong or a staff member just got bored and decided to screw with you.

Sounds like you posted in a topic that was deleted or something...

Maybe because you're "Stealing all of Deathawk's avatars" when the administration said to stop?

Ever thought of that?

I would have to say that sen does indeed miscalculate sometimes, and minerals do dissapear. I have to confirm that. happy.gif.

I posted many posts once, and then checked back on the next day without any warnings and saw that it was indeed 40 shy of what it was the other day. All the posts were in tact.

Im guessing if a moderator edits a post, the minerals earned for that post is deleted?
(just suggesting it).

There should be a notice for stuff like that, if your posts are deleted, moved, etc.

BUT LET'S WAIT TILL v5 TO DO THAT!!!

It's in FAQ and Regulations. It's basically a notice.

Oh I mean a small notice like a PM, or something saying..

"Your post (Insert post here.) has been deleted, moved, etc. You lose x amount of minerals, and x amount of cumulative posts(Or posts, since v5 won't have any difference between them)."

v5 already has such a system if I'm not mistaken. Almost every case of dissapearing minerals I hear of here is due to abusing the ADDITION function, though.

Do you realize how much time it would take to tell every member something happened to one post?
And then how much time it would take to explain why.
And then explain in detail when they complain about our reasoning?

Yipee! Every moderation action takes at least five minutes. I wouldn't bother moderating anything at that point.

It could be an automatic thing. Moderator presses a button, they go to a page, type in the amount of minerals or post count they lost, press send, and the automatic message is sent to the user. It doesn't even have to explain why. =\

This has happened to me before, I had like 80 less minerlas and about 6 less comulative posts and it was because a topic that I posted a lot in was moved from Serious Discussion to Null, You just have to look at it yourself, then like 4 more posts and about another 20 mins lost because of others from Lite Discussion to Null. If every person took 5 minutes to look and see why they lost the minerals/posts it would be a lot easier than having one admin, etc. Take 30 mins to PM about 40 people that posted in the moved topic.

Where did my minerals go?
(First, thanks to DT_Battlekruser, who did most of the work on this section tongue.gif)

[size=2]Posts Moved
Effect: None
Statistically: 0 Minerals each
Occurs: Seldom
Details: This is a myth. When a topic is moved, no penalty is imposed.

There is actually something like that in the Warn CP. But obviously it doesn't work when an action is taken that affects multiple users (like deleting a thread).

No, I always edit. I never double post.

I think a topic I posted in was deleted. Oh well, it doesn't matter what happened, I'm locking this topic.
