Storyline / Introduction

Players choose from 12 characters (listed below), each of whom have 4 skills/spells. These spells will vary in usefullness, ranging from their first spell being the most useful, to their last spell.




Features


-Player Interface
The spell system will be Stargate/Gateway like that of FF7 battle, but spells will not be as uber as they are in FF7. The damage:life ratio of the units is not as close as paintball, but much closer than FF7. In short, your first units do a lot more damage than they do in FF7, but they can take many more hits than units in Paintball can.

-What's new in your map that others have not done before?
Well, im not sure if these are new, but they are certainly different.
•1 person max Incubator (only one person may heal at one time, the rest must be on the battle field fightning
•A different balance of units and spells

Hopefully this wont get bashed too much for being a "remake", but I assure you, it will be much more different than FF7 or a Paintball map.

Plus it's D2, who could hate that?

Also: Testers are needed and welcomed.

June 4th, 2006: Update- Canceled previous thoughts of systems of scoring/winning. The *hopefully* final decision of scoring is that of paintball. A preset # of kills is to be achieved.

Also: Canceled the outside units due to lack of sufficient players (player 7 and 8 must be used =[)

Also: Canceled the Shrines idea (too much work for something so insignificant all that i could make would be healing shrines, which there is a healing station for)

Also: Updated spells

Srry guys i was being really lazy for a really long time, but i've gotten the first spells of everyone done =P

I can help you with the skills if you want.
You should not make this like FF7 Battle. It has bad terrain and its really ugly. Make it realistic terrain like from d2.

Im not sure what you mean by ugly, but its not just a big square. well, it is a big square, but this is a BIG square that has a lot of different areas, hence the 96x128. and im trying to make it realistic, but its a little hard. ill get it eventually.

I've been thinking about how win/lose

What would be the best way in y'all's opinion?

Predetermined amount of Deaths (You have X amount of lives and leave when you die)

Predetermined amount of Kills (You have infinite spawn, but must reach a certain amount of kills)

I'm trying to figure out how to do a system of per kill, add custom, and the team with the most "custom" points at the end of a time period win, but im not sure how to make a trigger recognize that a team has "higher" points.

How bout you get a certain amount of lives
If you run out u die or every time u die u lose a penalty of gold(Minerals)
when u have 0 minerals u lose
Win is by being the last one alive or slaying x amount of ppl

i like your ideas, but im not sure how i would do the shrines. i think i have it figured out trigger-wise, but i dont know how to make a hill "glow" if you will, so that people will know they can use it.

can you create player 9 units through triggers?

and i think i have the win/lose system down ( its very much like actual diablo!)

both teams have X amount of Gold Pieces (Lives)

every time one of your people die, you lose a gold piece, and the other team "steals your gold" just like in d2! once you're team is out of gold, the other team will say "OMG GG KTHX OMGPWNT" and leave like they always do, after all, your out of gold! and you are left in your shameful disgrace of n00biness.

so basically, you start out with, say, 10 gold pieces. you die, and you loes a gold piece and the other team steals it. you kill one of their people, and they lose a gold piece and you steal it.

erm...if you consider FF7 Battle and Budokai style maps to be basic...i suppose it is.

however...it employs more than just the spell vs spell fighting, so its really not too basic. its taking a hell of a lot of triggers pinch.gif

uh every actual type of character is on there (every class), but i cant come up with every single type of build. they go on forever...i mean paladins have: foh, hammer, charge, smite, zealot, foh/hammer, foh/charge, zeal/smite....and thats not even all of them.

and whats wrong with the stargate/gateway spells? ;/

i do consider FF7 a Basic Map actually, because im making KH2 Battle, which is very similiar. and all it takes is alot of basic triggering.

its tedious triggering. the difficult part of it is balancing everything. FF7 is based off of a "This much damage unit for 200 gas for everyone, This much more damage unit for 300 gas for everyone", but mine doesnt do that

as for you DLK, this map doesnt have any progress that i can show other than triggers. everything else is pretty much done except for balancing/testing.

i am =[. well, i did add today that i finished everyone's 1st spell lol. its just getting around to actually do the triggers that i cant manage. i sit here and think of what i would use to make the triggers, and then i never do it =[. they get very boring. and actually 2 days ago i did a major update =o
