This is the map I've been working on. I don't have a big fancy title like the other people because I am too lazy to make one. Any way, here are some screenshots with captions:

This is the Battle Screen. The Movement Points at the top means how many squares you can move per turn. Going back to an original square still subtracts Movement Points. This might be changed later for my Idiot Proof Maps. The dropship displays the main menu in the Battle Screen.

Samething except with some spells and on a different character.

After selecting the Fire Spell, a Fire Elemental (Firebat) comes and fights with the enemy. Stim might be removed because it's proved to be a little TOO powerful. pinch.gif As you can see by the one unit attacking, it is a Turn Based Battle System.

Here is simply the computer attacking me. Note: Right now, the computers are very stupid and the only "AI" it has is order, a special trigger for it to attack, and the retreat, if there are still some Movement Points left. So the computers do not have spells yet.

After the battle, you gaine exp and other goodies (soon to be added).

Bugs Known so far:
-If you kill a computer and then another computer tries to go to the square the original computer was on, the unit will be forced to go back. This is caused by the wrong player's zergling on that square. Will be fixed later.

-The end cutscene is messed up. The cause is still unknown but I have a guess. Will be fixed later.

-Sometimes, the dropship doesn't create the units its' suppose to and you're left with an empty dropship. If this happens, you are forced to remake the game again. The cause is unknown and I have no clue. Will be fixed later if I find the cause.

Comments, Suggestions, Complaints, Stupid Posts, Bug Reports, Ideas (Edit:)Death threats are all welcome!

Introduction was disabled because it had nothing to do with the storyline. A much better Intro will be made in the next release.

No sound either, except with the free sounds happy.gif

EDITS: HAHAHA I forgot to move the location so you can still see the city after the battle is done ..oh well tongue.gif

Seems be delay in creation of speical units, could be your switch? maybe try using death counters. -_- or just have 3 different dropships with units in it.

This what happen:

- Took Moogle to Bishop
- Unloaded Special
- no units came in special
- few seconds later Back loaded
- Clicked back
- Old menu came back
- Then other units created
- But Moogle already attacked
- So Marine attacked then it tryed cast special.

Does this happen everytime? Can you recreate the bug if you wanted to? If not, this is going to be very hard to fix T_T

EDIT: That is strange, It doesn't happen to me huh.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Moogle on 2004-07-26 at 11:10:21
I can recreate this bug easy, all i did was took Moogle to square unloaded special and this happen, has do with changing around the stuff in shuttle =/ something delaying spawn + reload but eh. Overall didnt find any other bugs expect this.

Edit: I spoke to Tuxedo-Templar he may drop by and have look at this thread he may help ya Cheeze.

awesome moogle! (if he comes that is wink.gif )

if anyone has suggestions for the map please say so. I'm thinking of redoing the map entirely so I can actually put in all the features I want (special status, which way your unit is facing, etc)

hella lot better than the other fft maps.. besides the bugs..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Golden-Fist on 2004-07-26 at 20:58:38
That was the fastest dl in the world

Glitchs....
The map is tiny maybe should be a lil bigger. There was a part when i was next to a guy and said there are no eneimes around me... Then i relized i have to be in the same square as the guy (which u should add) Thats about it also player 2 doesn't do anything. I couldn't finish the game it just stoped randmly at one point.

I don't like quoting myself ... but please tell me exactly what happened.

Here's another attachment with some minor changes. I did what bolt suggested and some parts are working better. If you experience any bugs with this version, please give me a detailed explanation on what you did. wink.gif

Here is one
I did thunder later and it only gave me 1
What i did:
-Went to speical
-Unloaded Thunder
I know its a replay but that is what really happened
Also a suggestion is after each text u put a bunch of spaces "enter" button so it doesnt look bad
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CheeZe on 2004-07-26 at 22:52:53
there is suppose to be only one. was was happening before that? was it your first turn or did the computer do something? did you accidentally unload thunder twice? (even so, that should not happen)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Golden-Fist on 2004-07-27 at 05:45:06
err don't rember smile.gif but i could try again to drop as many times possible.

But once again take my advice about the adding a bunch of enters so it looks cool. Plus i noticed the 1st part has no names but after u beat the battle it does o_O

Thanks for peoples input. I'm currently remaking Final Fantasy Tactics and this time, it will hopefully be a lot better. I'm remaking it from scratch and not just changeing the terrain and reputting triggers but remaking everything and hopefully without all the bugs.

so if anyone has new ideas for the system, any new ideas, it will be welcome and if it's good enough, it will be put in (as much as I can anyway wink.gif )

Guys... a dog's feces has better potential then the other FFT maps. Cheeze's map is/was awesome of course now he's redoing it...

I suggest making the world map larger, more locations, and make multiple town setups. A single "jungle" spot isn't good if you have a place called "Death Mountain". You should use counters whenever possible if you haven't already, and I suggest never using switches except to randomize. If you plan on having a lot of dialogue, don't comment every trigger, put a header trigger with just a comment in it for groups of triggers. Also, more weapons! more spells! bigger! better!

awww I thought you hated it my map sala =/

anyway I am planning on redoing a lot of stuff you said. but do you have an idea on how I could put in more weapons? I don't want upgrades to be forever because of job changes and other crap. (this means i'm most likely going with some other way for the attack and spell system instead of the one I have)

Well... for a turn based map like this I would use an entirely different, however terribly more complicated system involving unit health percentages. Calculating "Armor" and "Attack" power in order to determine how much "Damage" your attack does. Then you remove that amount from the enemies "Hp" which is stored in a variable. Then the enemies "hp" is set via percentages. I guess I don't think you could do it, or understand it, plus I'm already doing that for an RPG, and all units have to have 100 "HP"... though basic enemies would start with like 3 "hp" and you'd do like 1 damage.. 2 if you're lucky. Of course then you can use the same enemies throughout the whole map and have their HP be higher.. hmm... Wait... Whose RPG are we talking about now? THESE ARE MY IDEAS! MINES!!! MY PRECIOUS!!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CheeZe on 2004-07-27 at 21:10:11
that idea is too hard for my map (I could probably do it if there were only 5 or 6 guys but when a battle can have up to 12 characters at once pinch.gif )

as for everything else you said (leveling up=more hp) thats a commone theme and one I'm probably going to use in my map.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SaLaCiouS(U) on 2004-07-27 at 21:15:04
You mean you weren't going to do that!?!?! You need HP based on levels, spells gained as you level up, money from owning monsters that you can buy potions, mana potions, phoenix downs, weapons, etc.. Also umm.. certain battles could have stuff hidden on the battle field! Or .. not hidden!
