Storyline-There really isn't a storyline it all depend's on how the game plays out, if the player's don't make a big enough impact to be noticed by other players, the computer will generate problems. For example nothing happens for 4 day's from the player's the computer will set a switch out of 20 switches, like bandit's take over a town or something like that :/.
I like the idea of making it like pitch black so im going to make it "VERY" unsafe to travel at night unless your in the carvan mans caravan.
The main reason I started this map was because I haven't seen and maps out there that let you "Semi-talk" to the apc's and actually have it interact with the way thing's go. And when I say your action's effect the Entire game... I mean it.
Your either good, bad, stranger to the apc's that's it.
Ive used sf to make bases and bridges, and probably everything that I deem "cool", Im trying to make this game as complex as I can possibly make it. Which is working out pretty good i'll add screenshot's later when im not so tired...
I need a name for this rpg and maybe a idea or two.
So its sort of like an Open RPG?
i can help you, as well as any other RPG mappers, with what i know, so if you need ANY help whatsoever just PM me
and what do you mean by Semi-talk to the apc's?
talking to the Nonplayable Characters?
bridges... aren't those simply under Doodads?
here's one last suggestion
use unit deaths to create Reputation Meters for the Heroes... ever played Freelancer?
Heck, I've always wanted to play an RPG like that

. I hope it goes well from idea to actual thing.

isn't impossible, but how to detect whose unit you killed? i suggest doing missions for people and having the meter go up for missions succeeded. if you have high speed internet or about 12 hours of spare time, search Freelancer on download.com or microsoft.com to download the demo. i'm not advertising for it, but it's a good example... almost 150 MB game just to demonstrate a reputation meter, lol... of course Freelancer also has good graphics and stuff, but that's getting irrevelant for Map Showcase
Well for hand-to-hand units you can make a 2x2 location around your guy and say if player suffers deaths at that location, add deaths to that player (or whatever) and reset oombat data. Dunno if a large location on ranged units will work so well.
QUOTE
if player suffers deaths at that location
uh... there's no such thing. "suffers deaths of" conditions can only detect if you suffered a death, there's no locations involved
