Staredit Network -> Concepts -> Plague to Ban

I have yet found another way to ban players. I have tested this so it is 100% accurate and always works. To create it, you need a defiler, of course, and computer units around it. Make sure two of them cant be hit by plague.

Since plague makes computer units move away from it, you can make it so that when they move into a location, a player is banned. You will have to find some way to detect what player you are banning, however.

Just cast plague on a terran building with 10 hp. It'll burn down. :/

If we're doing spell bans, I'd think Broodling or Feedback would probably be the cleanest biggrin.gif

you could do a mind control ban too, once that player doesnt own one of that unit, ban them. Only down side is the unit cant be invinsible.

Why not take your plague system and put computer owned units on a 2x1 square next to each player's marker. Then cast your plague on the computer that corresponds with the player's marker and once it moves to the other side of the 2x1 square, the targeted player is banned.

You could ban with plague or ensare by revealing a cloaked unit to a hostile enemy, and detecting the death.

Having computer units move to a location would require SEVERAL locations and triggers to be used. Using spells that cover a larger area is extremely inconvenient.

That's what I was thinking before I clicked on this thread.

I could do his method with one location... just have all the units on a square of high ground and a location for high ground. Once they move off that one square of high ground, they don't bring a unit to that location... ban.

Or just use a system with 1 unit for each player, plus a banner and use no locations at all tongue.gif

LoL you can make a banner like this: You use swarm on a unit controlled by the player you need to ban. 255 burrowed lurkers are created a bit to the left from that unit. They attack him, forcing him to go to the right - where reavers await him. After 10 seconds of pain, that unit gets teleported to a 1x1 square, and 13 PC controlled ghosts are commamned to nuke at taht location. Then, when that unit gets killed, the player gets banned. crazy.gif crazy.gif crazy.gif

Except P13 ghosts can't nuke. sad.gif. You could, however, get that unit teleported to a long maze where it's order to move to the end, while things are attacking it. And then there could be randomization of how many attacking units, and then you could do a thing where the farther the unit gets the more severely the player gets banned, as in if the unit dies in like 2 seconds, the player just gets a defeat. But if the unit lives for 10 seconds, the player gets annoying text permanetly displayed and the screen is constantly centering on random locations, and annoying sounds are constantly being played, then a defeat, but as soon as you do that, center the screen in a hidden corner and disable a unit which crashes the player, but the player is defeated already and hopefully won't make the lag box appear, and there you go!

Why not just move the unit to the ban button or just kill the unit -_-

It says nothing about P13 ghosts, it says "13 PC" ghosts, which I assume means "player controlled".

It says PC controlled, AKA computer controlled.
Anyways, seems like the beacon thing is STILL easier, but whatever.

lolz... OmG... Why not just do the feed back method.
And, how do u control which way the unit goes? ( using the pluage method )

You could use terrain to control where they could run to...though I still thinks it seems a bit too convoluted except for novelty purposes...

Banning with spells. I am just thinking of these, they are not guaranteed to work. Some of these are old and used, but I am going through every spell I can think of and find a way to use it.

Make the player unit constantly moving. Make a trigger to detect if the unit has stopped. Lockdown, stasis field, or maelstrom.
Make a unit with low HP and high sheilds and have a computer player constantly attacking it. Make it so every second or two it regains its shields. When you use EMP Shockwave it will lower its shields to 0 allowing the unit to die. (Would need large areas so you don't ban the wrong player(s), and might use it as it resets so it takes 2 uses to get it done)
Psi storm or Irradiate a unit with low HP. (Has to be spaced slightly so you don't ban other people)
Make a computer player that does not have vision with the people who are being banned, but has vision with the banner. Banner has vision with the players to be banned. The units to ban with are cloaked. Use Parasite so the computer can see and kill them.
Spawn broodlings on the units and make a trigger to remove broodlings with hypertriggers for a cool "dies from a green cloud" effect. (I used a similar thing with computer AI to start a round in a defence)
Make units constantly moving to avoid lurker attacks. Ensnare will slow them down allowing them to not outrun the attack.
Move a 1x1 location on P12 Dark Swarm or Disruption Web and remove/kill it, and the bannable player's unit. Or you can make a computer player attack the banner and Dark Swarm or Disruption Web will disable the unit to die, banning them.
Use a terran building with low HP (such as 2) and plague it. Or use any others that are actually on-topic in here. wink.gif
Make a unit owned by the banner to represent each player in the game. Consume one and it bans that player.
Make a computer to blind all bannable units. If you use Restoration they will kill a computer that was normally hiddin, and 1 kill of that unit bans them.
Mind control a unit will remove it for the banner and ban them.
Feedback a unit and when it dies they are banned.
Do the reverse of the restoration. wink.gif Use optical flare to disable them of attacking a unit, banning them if they don't kill it.
Put a location for every player labelled somehow with a civilian or something. Merge two templar to form an Archon and kill the civilian, morph a lurker and detect if it exists, morph a larva that has been moved there to something, etc.
Anything else?

EDIT: "Psi or Irradiate storm" hehe.. added "Irradiate" to that one after psi storm..

is it just me or has this been done before? I think someone in clan uuu or oo i don't remember showed me this. It's a done concept but just a creative way to ban. Banners aren't really much of a big thing now a days, or as i see in the recent maps (U) and Oo are making. Only in the old bounds and the continueing once.

I did not read all of these posts so sorry if someone has already said this but, if the players do not have vision for themselves, you can put medics for them in the darkness close to the banning spot and put locations so if the medics move to try to heal the plagued unit, the person will be banned

confused.gif Why do you need to ban someone in game. SC is not FPS king of game where people can join your server in any time. I can't get the idea why is it neccessary.

Laggers, spammers, hackers, retards, etc.
Although bans are usually abused and done for no reason or with little information..

I didnt ask why you need to BAN.
I asked why do you need to ban in GAMEPLAY.
He cant come back anyway if the game continues.
SC is RTS not FPS lol. ermm.gif

Trigger the defeat somehow and you got the playr out in game, if he gets bad. But this is kicking, not banning and this i can understand.
