Staredit Network -> Games -> Halo Graphical Upgrades
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2006-06-10 at 09:48:17
Ever since people who is a fan of Halo, I have created an image of upgrades. And don't ask me about where the skinny Master Chief has a medieval sword, because that was an RTS and a beta. And I did not include Halo Zero ever since it's not official by Bungie, Microsoft or Gearbox.

wow never noticed the change to be so drastic. nice pic

That PC image doesn't do Master Chief justice on the PC version. It looks much cleaner than the X-Box version (especially running at 1680x1050!).

The changed between 2 and 3 is truely drastic, nice work.

I'm pretty sure "Halo 3" is from a Halo 2 wallpaper. And the first two images for Halo 1 is nothing compared to what they actually look like. They look a lot better then that.

But you can't compare them. There isn't any Halo 3 ingame graphics yet.

bungie said thats there ingame graphic, and i can kind of trust it. I mean i bet the whole game doesnt look like that, but i can see it very similar.

The graphic seems pretty close to MGS4

That is a cutscene trailer, but there was a some Bungie Workers showing off some stuff they've done. Also, they have that video with different angles of the trailer.

In Halo the Cutscene Graphics are The in Game graphics if you dont believe me just play halo 1 or 2 yourself.

Halo 2's cutscene graphics are no where near the normal graphics:

That is not the same as the picture posted before. And they might've shown off some in game, but there are no screenshots of it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2006-06-10 at 23:20:33
That was the demo of Halo 2, in it's beta version where the graphics are lesser than the retail version. If you notice in the demo, there are medical bunkers like in the multiplayer map called 'Turf', they reused what they hadn't used in the retail game.

Acutally I'm pretty sure my picture is from a cutscene.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2006-06-11 at 16:09:13
If you notice carefully, that was Halo 2 and not Halo 3. But don't compare Halo 2 and Halo 3 with StarCraft, WarCraft III and World of WarCraft where the cinematic cutscene graphics looks way better than Unreal Engine 3. They admit that Halo 3's ingame graphics will be their cutscene, but I'm not really sure about Halo 2 though.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2006-06-11 at 16:32:52
the actually halo 2 game the cutscene was pretty much like there ingame graphics, expect a few.

I think the best graphic on halo 2 was the last scene... That was real nice graphic..

And talking about graphic that halo 3 trailer will probablly be the real ingame graphic, but yes it is still pretty earily stage to actually talk about graphic then game is not. Same with pretty much all game, unless there out...

When did I?
And you can't prove (Or anyone can prove) that the graphics they showed off from Halo 3's trailer is the same as the in-game graphics. That is until, there are in game screenshots (And I mean visable HUDs and such).
And you still haven't told me where that Halo 3 picture is from.
However if these are the graphics then it's what should be expected from the next generation. If the graphics don't wow me then that means the next generation failed as in graphical terms.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2006-06-11 at 18:46:20
that halo 3 picture is pretty much concept art... its not ingame, but still the halo preview wasnt that impressive. I mean some parts yea, but some parts wasnt that great. I mean not like OMG OMG OMG OMG. But like wow thats pretty darn good graphics... and im pretty sure that bungie can make those kinds of graphics.

yea, but its always ingame graphic. I mean sony showed bunch of CG trailer and was like duh duh duh its going to look like that at your home... ok sony stop lying you already stripped down your PS3, no more need to lie go away...

Likely that is your oppinion, but you can't suspect too much off of a engine. Are you saying that real-time graphics that is completely better than Unreal Engine 3 can actually handle the 'Next-Gen' consoles? Bungie themselves admit it was ingame graphics, possible adjusts it better when it is released but the ingame graphics are exactly the same as the trailer. Checkout one of those videos where gamespot said 'watch the video from different angles' stuff.

Whoa Halo 3 is coming already. Man it seems like yesterday when Halo 2 came out and it sold a few million copies in the first day. Now when Halo 3 comes out It might dominate other games. Meh. whatever.

Can you proof read your sentances so they make sense? It's hard to read. And they can admit stuff all they want, that doesn't prove anything. I'm the kind of england, I admit it. Doesn't mean it's true, or that anyone should believe me. I think you said something about me expecting too much from the next generation. Well here's a comparison:

Old Generation

New Generation

That's a noticeable difference. As should this new generation.

well those pictures look like from 2 different systems...
looks like one of them is from PS1 and the other PS2
and who really cares about the graphics on halo 3, it looks like its at its best already but a little more tweakin with the glitches and stuff.

could game makers make a game that can make it look 100% NO! well.... probably possible in the next 100 years but they try to make it look realistic as possible and put alot of levels and guns in the game also.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2006-06-12 at 08:02:20
...If they announce that... They need to meet their expectations or go higher.
The graphics for Halo 3 Demo... is only 9000 plus or minus 600 kb/s. It isn't that hard to achieve with Xbox 360. They could make things better with that... and... I wouldn't want a game with 100% looking realistically.

According to Microsoft Halo 2 for Windows Vista will offer the single-player and multiplayer aspects of the Xbox original along with content from the Multiplayer Map Pack. Gamers will also have the exciting opportunity to build, create and customize their own multiplayer levels.

It’s quite an odd move really. After all, there are much better first-person shooters available on the PC to show off the technology of the new Operating System. Halo 2 will be rather long in the tooth by the time Vista is released.

yeah that's intense. The third one looks bad though, maybe it's just a bad shot. The second and last (pc and 360 look best), But 360 looks the best because of more detail. I'm so excited to play halo 3 when it comes out. I havn't heared much about it but it seems crazy, same with the movie.

It is...
I was showing how the next generation graphics should have a huge change, and not a very subtle one. The difference between Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires for the Xbox360 and the ps2 version is noticeable, but it's not that fantastic.

Because I shrank the size of the third one, it was over wallpaper size when it was in render.
