Quick questions:

Maximum ammount of triggers on a map?

I have been working on a map and placed a few units recently. But now the units do not appear. And yes it is working, because newly placed triggers work. What could be wrong?

Well, the limit is pretty flexible for triggers. You can have about 10,000+ triggers on one map. Maybe you placed the units too close to each other (stack) so the game deletes them or they're touching invalid terrain such as water or if you placed them on a wall... What editor are you using?

Yes, there are three Defiler Mounds stacked to cover an entrance to an area and two of them are also touching a default terrain wall. But this was not a problem before, it just started happening.

I use SCMDraft.

Well i'm not sure if you guys saw it but i find your question confusing. You said they dissapeared but than they work? Did i miss somthing there?

No... The buildings dissapear but the newly placed triggers work. I'm saying that it IS the same map I am saving. So it is in fact the right version, but the buildings are not appearing.

Mobile units such as Marines or Firebats, when stacked, disappear. Buildings do not, why I don't know. Can you give us the map or a screen shot?

no, i cant. its on a different computer. I use one with no internet and another without... I truly need to get some floppy discs...

CD-RWs are the best since newer computers don't have the floppy slot, like mine. Why don't you have the editor on your internet computer anyway? wink.gif

There is no limit to the number of triggers in a map, only a limit to the number of things used in triggers, such as strings (1024).

Are you opening SCMDraft with building stacking disabled? It automatically deletes illegally placed building upon startup unless you disable a setting.

I think its ingame DTBK. wink.gif I dunno what the problem is unless I have the map or a screenie.

Make sure the owner has a start location.
Make sure the owner is actually in the game.

Post the map so you don't have to be super specific in your question.

There are millions of reasons why certain buildings aren't appearing on the map.

Strings are not limited to 1024.

Everything absolutely works. The only trigger I have to get rid of these buildings is when a specific unit is brought to it, they are destroyed. But that unit does not even appear at all for quite a while. But they are not even destroyed, they just plain don't spawn.

I cannot post a version because the map is not on my current computer.

I say you just take the stupid Dmounds out of the map and close this topic. wink.gif Are you using Starcraft: Original or Starcraft: Brood War? Maybe SC:O doesn't allow stacked buildings. Just a thought!

Try another building. What editor are you using anyway?

SCMDraft...

Are they sprites or buildings?

Is there random start location checked or anything?

Does the player receive a defeat and the buildings are given to p12 and you have a "remove all unit for p12" trigger?

It would help if you posted the map wink.gif

QUOTE(MindArchon)
The theoretical trigger limit is 1 789 569.

Reasoning: Each "section" in the CHK file has a number which tells you how long the section is. It is an unsigned long, meaning it can hold up to 4 294 967 295. Since each trigger is 2400 bytes long..
4 294 967 295 / 2400 = 1 789 569.70625

As for if you could ever get that many? .. Probably not.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by iHaveNoRegrets on 2006-06-10 at 23:30:43
There are absolutely no triggers that could possibly touch these buildings besides the one posted earlier. It has to be a unit maximum error of some kind. But the editor would not allow that to happen, would it?

And the map with the error is not currently at my access, the image was created from scratch, but that is the exact same as the map. I guess it is some kind of random error... Oh well, I will try changing the buildings and see if someone slipped in a trigger or something...
