The jist of it is it's a clinic for people who are so addicted to Video Games, it harms them. Some people may recall the man who died from playing starcraft for 50 hours straight in an Internet Cafe. Or the guy playing Everquest with kids and a wife, who killed himself because he lost all his items. These cases are rare and far apart, but now they'll be even rarer (In euerope at least) and father apart. This sort of means two things:
A) Jack Thompson has something new to complain about
B) Video Games, and basically the internet as a whole is going mainstream (w00t)
Thoughts?

First, I'm sorry, but if you die/kill yourself because your are so damn addicted to Video Games, you probably deserved it.
Second, Wow, I can't beleive they had to treat a 13 year old kid. I wonder what his/her parents were doing O.O Eh well, at least they are getting help now.

I don't see how having a problem with your priorites gets you the Death Penlty. And people get addicted to a lot of things, not just drugs and achool. Video Games shouldn't be that different. And plus if they're suppose to be a way to escape your world, it seems obvious people would get addicted to it, if they have crapty lives.

I think these Video Game Addiction clinics should be open for people who play runescape. I wont go through what I saw in our computer lab for Game Nerds who literally fight to get a comp to play that game. I've done it too many times.

The Korean who got himself killed. He didn't eat and he didn't sleep. I mean come on.. Common sense should be required if you are going to play Video Games. The Everquest guy - Did his kids mean nothing to him? I wonder how they are doing now, knowing that their dad committed suicide and will never hang out with them because he couldn't handle a Video Game.

I think if you got so addicted toa game that you comitted siucede, you are a weak person and you need to be kept away from it all, try to find a new hobby (or a new way of life), maybe change place of living - make some changes in your life to see that there are other valuable things in life besides your "items".

Yuor just making fun of people with problems. There are plenty of people who can drink achool and not get addicted, you don't see them going around making fun of other people. And you seem to completely miss what I said, I won't repeat it, i'm sure you can re-read it. Cocaine addicts don't eat or sleep sometimes, it's not like they don't have common sense, it means their judgement is being blocked by something fun (In Video Gaming's Case)

That's what the clinic is for... I'll try to take your post as if you weren't trying to insult the people who go there. Yeah there are "weak" people out there who happen to play games. That's what the clinic is for, to help. It seems so easy for everyone else probably because this is a new thing, and most of the time people don't like new things. Espcically when it has to do with video games since they get so much critisism already.
I hope you guys know the clinic opening is a not a bad thing, or trying to say that video games are the devil, or some crap like that.

I'm sorry if I offend anybody, but if you're too addicted to video games to get to the point where you're thinking of/or in the process of committing suicide, then good riddance. I seriously have no pity for people like that.
