Staredit Network -> Games -> For all the console gamers...

Remember, this is about console gaming. My opinions are reverse for PC gaming.

I realized that a lot of games I bought a long time ago were made for multiplayer gaming. Whether it was Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, or Mario Party, it was about playing against people.

As I got older, my friends don't play games as much, so I guess I'm focused on those games that have a good experience for the solo player.

Even though many games are critically acclaimed like Halo 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee or Tekken, these are really multiplayer games. Solo gaming is not only cheaper, but you'll appreciate the game more by yourself than playing a game focused on multiplayer.

I'm mostly online multiplayer, first off, you don't feel lonely and it's real human beings. Solo is fine to know the story of the game. The other one is nah...

I don't have enough people to play with on a regular basis at my house, and I don't want to pay premiums for being allowed to play against other people over those consoles. Thus, I usually have some games with limited multiplayer capacity for when there actually is a party, but they also have large single-player levels.

To me console gaming is not at all about online multiplayer, I have a computer for multiplayer, and consoles just don't offer enough communication between players for me to really enjoy the multiplayer. I do play hotseat multiplayer occasionally with friends, but overall, console gaming is a very solo thing for me.
If consoles offered better options for communication, such as keyboards, and they were used often, then I would reconsider playing online console games.

I buy console games for both single player and multiplayer offline. Well, except for the DS.

Anyway, I only have 2 controllers, and I only really have my brother to play with, so it's mostly solo.

I used to have xbox live but not anymore sad.gif

I buy online multiplayer games. It's no fun playing by yourself or playing with family. Family just brags how better they are than you. It gets very annoying.

I don't know why, but I just like playing with other people around the world.

For my PS2 I played with my friends, mostly 007 nightfire for shooting, we played with four players. I also play Hockey, Football, and Nascar with 2 to 8 players, the most I played with was 7 though! I have the internet but I dont like it that much, not enough time for it either. Leave the internet to the computers! biggrin.gif

I buy for single player, because SNES multiplayer support is almost nonexistent. biggrin.gif

I have two types of gaming friends:
A) Those who suck at games
B) Those who don't play them
So I normally go for the singer player, but online would be nice, it's easier to find people who are like you. But the majority of my games are single player.

What did you just say?

But Tales of Symphonia was really multiplayer, the people that aren't controlling the world map avatar get pissy.

The console I use is Xbox. I'm too far out into the middle of nowhereland to get Xbox Live, but I play offline with my brother and cousin addictivly, so I voted offline multiplayer.

Then again, I play Morrowind,(which, by the way, totaly pwns its childish sequal, Oblivion) more than all other console games combined lately, so maybe I should have voted 1-p.

Console ports are phhhht.

Morrowind plays best for PCs, the only real gaming platform.
