Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Cloak massive amount of marines

Is it possible to cloak a massive amount of marines at once? I tried it, but all it did was put a doodad in my map (using the disable - enable - enable) method.

Also, when you transfer ownership of these cloaked units, will they still be cloaked?

no you have to do it one at a time. plus you just cant do disable only.
check the tutorials about cloaking units.

and yes if you give it to another player it will still be cloaked

and this comes very helpful if your cloaking other units also

You're going to have to structure the map so then the range of an Arbiter's cloak reaches all of them.

You have to do them one at a time.
Just make a large area that the players cannot see with all the marines. Move one to a 2x2 or 1x1 area and cloak them there, then move them to where you will use them.

I've decided to do it one by one when the units die. The only problem is after the units are cloaked, they can't moove and stay in that unusable state.

trigger:
create 1 marine @ location for player 7
disable doodad state for all marines for player 7 @ location
enable doodad state for all marines for player 7 @ location
enable doodad state for all marines for player 7 @ location
wait 111 milleseconds
give 1 marine owned by player 7 @ location to current player
move 1 marine owned by current player from location to location2

You could make a little assembly line type thing in an area where the players can't see, just mass-producing cloaked rines 4-5 at a time smile.gif

This would be done by setting up the trigger 4-5 times in different spots, of course. Just have them constantly running and teleport all the finished marines to a big holding pen for later use.

Just have the marines start out for one player and give them to another player afterwards to create a cycle to check for marines to cloak.

What I mean would be:

Player 1 commands at least 1 marine
-------------------
Do the cloaking stuff
Give 1 marine at was just cloaked to player 2
preserve

You could even expand on urmom's idea by using bring instead of command, using multiple locations to execute the cloaking stuff. Which is basically what I mentioned earlier, only he laid it out clearer smile.gif
