[xM]Maze Combat is a map with several gameplays such as 3vs3, FFA, king of the hill, capture the flag and last man standing on a 50x50 maze using the badland tileset

-Features-
- A 50x50 maze on a 64x64 map
- Fires in the direction your facing
- 5 Different weapons all with customized cooldowns, sounds, damage and ranges
- Other misc items such as medkit, grenades and body armor
- Displays your health and armor at the top in a bar
- You can hear your own footsteps aswell as hear other people's footsteps if they are within a certain radius of you
-Drop items on the floor as you die so people can pick it up

-Modes-
3vs3: Your typical 3vs3 side vs side, possible semi modes will be; most kills in time limit, certain amount of kills

FFA: All vs all it will feature random spawn locations

King of The Hill: In the middle will be a "crown" which you pick up then you have to keep possecion of it for an approximate time of 5 minutes in total the first to 0:00 is the winner

[/U]Capture The Flag: Two teams will compete for the flag of the other team, they will bring it to their own base to score and the flag will be placed back. however the flag will not actually be a flag when you die the flag will be dropped as a display when you hold it people will not know

Last Man Standing[U]: you will have a number of lives (your choice) when you loose your lives you will be given the option to watch or leave, If you choose to stay you will only get vision from those that wish to provide vision to prevent cheating

About the firing in the direction you're facing, how accurate will the system be, will it support nine directions, four, or be truely cool (and I think nearly impossible to trigger) and incorporate support for more than nine directions?
Also, on the footsteps, do you plan on making them directional-- so that a different .wav file, either from left or right plays when they're close enough to hear?
Also, what will the maze be made of? Will it be a static, terrian maze, or will it be dynamic, and made of minerals or something similar? ( I assume that the name "Maze combat" is not purely asthetic)

I don't like the idea. Maze Combat? Nope, doesn't work for me. Sure it's original, but it just sounds lame.

It's quite easy to trigger 8 fire directions. Not a bad idea, if you make it easy to shoot, it would be great !

I personally don't like "weird" map sizes, because I always forget to join a game before and I crash -_-. But this sounds like a good idea. Good luck with it.

ok id like to point out my maze is a 50x50 terrain maze the only directions you can really shoot in is left right up and down however IF there was to be diagnals in the map i would of done the other directions but there isnt (sorry)

also if a mod of some kind comes on here i would like them to delete Dark_Lunatic_K's post because 1. i don't like him 2. he hates me 3. frankly i dont need him talking in my topic if hes going to just send negative vibes

Sounds pretty tight. And about DLK, just report his posts. Were you the one who posted in MMA about firing in a direction?

The Arena could be 50x50, but that doesn't mean the map must be... unless your having a locations problem, you could just put null around it. I agree that we should avoid maps of odd dimensions at all cost.

Edit: I imagine this is what you were gonna do anyway. Btw: Nice map idea.

wooden i swear u like making work for me :s if u want to make a 50x50 maze on a 64x64 sized map feel free. However if i do not wish to use it then that should be my final decision.
the map is a 64x64 map with a 50x50 maze this leaves room for the other features of the map

Your original post implies the dimensions are 50x50, not the arena. I'd clarify that.

I think the biggest challenge you will have is keeping the game interesting and easy to use when implementing all these features. The controls not only have to be neat and original, but easy enough to use that it never becomes a pain. I think if you can accomplish that, it would be a really sweet game to play smile.gif
