There is area 1 and area 2.
The player is in area 2, but he has flags in area 1.

The flags are given to player11, but they remain the colour of the player.
Now how do you make him not to see his flags at the beginning of the game ?
(or beacons or whatever unit)

I have tested this:
Create player1 flag to location2
Give player1 flag to player11

And
(the flag is placed in editor)
Give player1 flag to player11

None of them works. Player1 has still the fog of war removed for a second or so.
Iv been seeking a way to do it a long time now. Hope someone in here knows.

how about disabling player vision to themselves for the first few seconds and then giving it back?

blink.gif Ok ill tryed that.
For the vision to fianlly go OFF it took about 10 sec.
So at game start the players see their base, after 10 sec vision is OFF and message asks to wait them for 10 sec. THIS is weird !
And the already placed flags on the map are still being seen in the first 2 seconds.

My best way at the moment to do it would be next:

Make all player look DARKNESS in the middle of the map for 10 sec.
Make vision go off And wait for 10 more sec. (total of 20 sec now)
Make flags placed by locations after 10 sec of waiting. (half of 20)
And then give flags to P11.
Then after 20 sec passed.. give vision back to players.

This 20 sec waiting can really piss off many players. Thats not a very good option.

do you not have hyper triggers?

also, centering the screen would work, but if you're gonna center the screen theres no point in turning off vision either...

Jes hypper is on. If i center the screen the player can still see the "EXPLORED" area after centering is off. So there is a point. I want the damn flags not to explore area for players. I want it black as night iv seen it on one map.

Can't you just create flags for a different player and give them to P11?

Maybe anyone remembers a map where this kind of feature is used ? I dont, but it would help a lot i think.

ADDITION:
Did some testing again. Nothing working, but i foun dout this:

Player 1
Condition:whatever
Acrion: Turn off vision for player 1
Acrion: Turn on vision for player 1

With this the player 1 will stay blind. Turn ON will not work somehow.
And the visioning to actually take happen after the action is triggered is happening with a huge stall (i mean - in seconds, not in milliseconds).

I found the map.
It uses colored BEACONS.

The beacon owners cant see their own beacons though they own them. I looked over the triggers, nothing unusual. I went so mad, that i used OSMAP... not very proud about it (will not steal that map lol.. tongue.gif and yes the general idea of my map is same, but i started my map before i knew about OSMAP). But after unprotecting the function that players dont see their own beacons broke. So i dunno how this is made.

Ther is no "give beacon to player".
Because beacons change color of given to someone.

The maps name is "GoD's Land with Jesus!.scm"

Don't give up..
Sometimes I have an idea and it always come out bugged. I try to fix it with almost all the possibilities there is, but I fail. Then about 3 months later I find the solution. I hate it when that happens.

The best solution for this is to simply not have the flags at the begining.
The first time the player may see them do the create flags/ give to player 11.

This does not make sense, they would be able to create under fog. Even so, if that doesn't work, try creating them out of the fog, moving them to the location, and then giving them to p11.

Thats maybe it !

Need to create a flag somewhere near P1 for P1.
Then give to P11 and wait for 4sec.
(the wait is because the vision does not go off instantly)
Then move flag to where you need.

But i cant use it, because i cant cover all the flags with locations... i have location limit... but maybe someone else can make use of it. happy.gif
