Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> how to put a picture on map ?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by IntelliMouse on 2006-06-17 at 04:22:53
I watched the Pringles MBC StarLeague (this is time pringles is their sponser).
There's a big logo on the map, how did they do this?

I tried to replace some sprites in mpq, and place it on map. But this method seems not 'perfect', not exactly like that pringles one.

anyone can explain how to do that?
thanks very much.

SCPM - Starcraft Picture Mapper #. I dont know i tink 4 is out now but i used to use 3! This one I think makes the picture the fastest. Be careful when you use certain tilesets though. Like null!

don't listen to 7-7, there are no tiles in existence that could make that. they were either using a mod with custom made tiles or much more likely, it was digitally-altered.

i'm quite sure it's not visual effect, i think it's like some kind of modding.
you can watch it yourself, those vods can be found on TL's BT tracker: http://www.teamliquid.net/tracker/

but how to make custom tiles?

you need a special program for that. i forgot the name of it and i'm not sure if it modifies existling tiles or makes brand new ones. in any case, you won't be able to play it with other people unless they have the same mod

You have to change the terrain using a bunch of different programs... You might want to check out the modding section of the DLDB to find the tools you'll need.

Idiot. That's all I have to say, that's the WORST advice I've ever heard.

Gee... Ya think? mellow.gif

I think they edited the video. I watched it and if you look closely it's not just on the bridge, so it's not part of the doodad and therefore if they did mod it into SC, they did it in a very unintelligent way. The top of it is on the platform. I don't really know where I'm going with this... ermm.gif
