Cliff Making 101

As for those cool tricks, just put some tiles together that you think match and just keep changing them till they look nice.

Whatever terrain you want to use; the tutorial is for jungle though.

just what 'cool tricks' are you referring to? it'd also help if you told us which tileset you're interesting in using(certain people are better at certain tilesets - DEAD for badland buildings, Woodenfire for jungle) and providing us with SS of what you want to make.

Right... anyways...

It matters on what kind of style map your doing. Jungle has been found to be the more common terrain for Rpgs, Badland for the more of the "urban/present time" effect. If you want to learn how to do cliffs, high cliffs, extended cliffs, etc, message me at 0MEGA. on B.Net East. I can teach you.

Hey. Im new to this terrain making stuff too, so anyways. I find that the easiest way to learn is to look at samples of things other people have done first then try to make what they have made. Then start creating your own stuff. Just takes time and lots of patience cause some blocks may not fit with others, you just gotta find the right block and keep on adding. Like a puzzle.

EDIT:
Hey 0MEGA its ImPoSs-JeEp2, the guy who was working on that Manhunt map.

I learned a custom way!

Create a 3x3 isom area of 1 type of terrain take those and try to mix and match them in different orders!

There is no "best" tileset. Yea, jungle has more blends and stuff for an rpg. But every tileset can be used for certain map.

For city you use Badlands if your good with it or space if your not that good.

For rpg, and suchs you use jungle of course.

If you need a desert, you use desert. tongue.gif

Well, I hope you got me, the best tileset depends on the map your making.
