Hello. I am here to inform all "Forum Go-ers", that Yoshi Da Sniper will not be attending the forums for a couple of days, because his computer has crashed. I am one of his good friends, here to inform you. He called me up in a most dire situation, for he could not access his database. He is sorry for not showing up on the site but will be with you shortly, as stated above.

For the brief second I talked to him it seemed like he was having major problems.
I think he should watch what he downloads a little more closely and he wouldn't have those problems.

I was very lucky. Just now, I had a burst of life in my computer. I'm going to reformat which will take a very long time.
Fill you in on the details: A few days ago, I got swamped with LOTS and LOTS of spyware. Spyware is an annoying type of program that companies install on your computer without your premission. It was constantly changing what I type, doing billions of popup ads, and more. Chu saw me when I was in the worst stages of it. I could not write any proper message at all. In frustration, I ran msconfig in Windows xp (allows you to remove startup programs). Since the corperations are all a big bunch of mother####ers, 2 instances of the spyware detected my removal of the startup deletion, and decided to replace itself. When I restarted, windows didn't work. I called up my friend to tell him to post here that I'd be out for a few days (I didn't know exactly how long it'd take). After investigating the problem through system files, I discovered that the ####ing spyware was adding itself to the windows system files using a windows 98 configuration. I had to reinstall. The world is FULL of ####ty programmers my friends. The companies were too obsessed with getting ads in my face they screwed up my computer in the process.
Thanks goes out to my friend here, I told him to drop a message because I didnt know how long I'd be out.

BTW Chu. I'm very knowledgable about what I download. Its why my own personal computer is in such a great condition. The reason this happened was this is a family computer, and I'm the only Computer person in the family. In other words, they don't know what the heck they're doing. They installed something, and screwed it up.
I'm only here because I reinstalled windows to backup data, and this weekend I'll be out reformating and getting everything back in.
I'm glad it wasn't that big of a problem accually. If it were worse, I would of lost all site data (it'd still be on the server, but its a problem for me), lost the bot's CD key, and lost all my maps. But they are all safe and snug on a CD I'm burning as I type (can you belive all my files [no games or big files] BARELY fit on the CD?).
Yet again, I will be out for the next few days.

For spyware, I recommend you look up a fantastic program called AdAware, dunno if you've heard of it.

My AdAware just finds them and quarantines them.. maybe removes them.. but then they are always restored again.. anyways, welcome back Yoshi!

Perhaps you got a bad version/type. A friend of mine (scooby) pointed me to AdAware version 6.0. Also, after the files are quarantined, you actually have to manually delete them. =\

Yeah, I heard about Ad-Aware on Tech TV. It's good for killing spyware, but programs like Kazaa won't work (unless you get Kazaa Lite). If it doesn't help, I suggest you download a program called Spybot: Search and Destroy. That should help cover what Ad-Aware doesn't.

To StarEdit.net staff and go-ers alike, I won't be available due to my computers explosion and the loss of mucho files.. god damnit.. I will either cancel rpgs and bounds until I can or am able to work on them once again.. I don't know how long I will be gone..
