This is just a Post where people who know anything about Starcraft 2, can post their info about the game here and discuss it. Well, I know nothing about it AT ALL, so I do hope I can learn a few things from you people

(I hope someone hasn't already beat me to posting a thread about the sequel to SC, O.O')

Starcraft 2 , just along with Starcraft ghost, will never come out. Starcraft ghost was cancled and starcraft 2 never began to be made

Starcraft 2 is perhaps the most anticipated game of all time for the PC. Fans of the original Starcraft have been waiting for a sequel to the best seller for several years and have been denied by Blizzard time and time again over the years. Yet the majority of these fans have remained patient and loyal, faithfully waiting for the day Blizzard will finally announce it, not discouraged from the fact that Blizzard decided to create three consecutive Warcraft products and the slap in the face when the company announced Starcraft: Ghost, a third person shooter available exclusively for consoles and excluded from the PC.

StarCraft Ghost is no longer being worked on (this has been known for a while). StarCraft 2 will not be coming out anytime soon. Blizzard has released WarCraft 3 which has the same type of gameplay. If they released a StarCraft 2 it might do damage to WarCraft aka the games would be in compation and alot of WarCraft 3 fans would start playing StarCraft. Not to mention that Blizzard made World of WarCraft which has a 12 year plan.

To say it ezer StarCraft 2 won't happen for a while, but hopefully before another WarCraft game, and hopefully way before 12 years. SC Ghost I don't think will ever come out and idc. Also Blizzard is a company that doesn't release information untill they are like 90% sure it will happen. Other than that all I can tell you is that when SC2 is anouncced it will persell a Hheeeellllllllll of a lot of copies. So the official word on SC2 is that no one knows, at least none of the fans.

Lol, don't craete false hopes that's a mod for C&C Generals Which was shut down by Blizzard, and started again anyway..

Whew. When I first saw that somewhere I was thinking that it would suck bad. That really doesn't look how I would want starcraft 2 to look.

No one knows anything about Starcraft 2 and anyone that does is in idiot trying to be cool. Anything anyone tells you is speculation because Blizzard has not said jack. If anything is true, its what Cruzo kindly copy and pasted .....

Starcraft 2 isn't offically annouced, there's no point talking about it. It's like talking about Knights of the Old Republic 3.

I'm 98% sure that Blizzard isn't even secretly working on Starcraft 2. Why would I say this? They barely have enough resources to run WoW, makes patches for WoW and make The Burning Crusade.

Just take a look at all the jobs they want to fill, do remember that a whole bunch of people left Blizzard after the initial release of WoW.

Hmm it seems like Bioware is not part of KOTR 3... Not good :\, well there is only rumors on that game as you said, so... But IGN said it was only being developed by Obsidian Entertainment... And it said its being released for ps3 hope not lol haha.

starcraft ghost was canceled... and that was starcraft 2... lol it was funny becasue they said it on the news or something like that lol

I do know that Bill Roper (Creator of Starcraft) and the Schaefer brothers left Blizzard because they didn't like the path the company was taking, so they went onward and founded Flagship Studios. I've also heard of several people applying to Blizzard reject the job offer because they don't pay too well their employees.

Blizzard is actually on the low end of "Best Companies to work for" I know that Insomniac is number 4 this year, but that's because I get a newsletter from them :/

Blizzard should have a lot of more money from WoW. Anyway they should be making Starcraft 2.
Why you ask? why in the world?
Blizzard is divided into divisions. The division that made Wc3TFT hasn't announced what they've been working on since...Wc3TFT.
The division that has been hiring and making WoW is a seperate division, the same division that made the Diablo series. So if anything D3 is not being made.



Also Wc3 and Sc2 being in competition shouldn't matter. Why? Hows that possible you ask? Because.... everyone would gradually move onto Sc2 and buy it. Just like many Starcraft gamers gradually moved onto Wc3.

Then if Sc2 came out....all the Sc gamers + gradual ones from Wc3. Then Wc4 comes out, all the Wc3 games + gradual ones from Sc2. And it just repeats like that. Blizzard isn't getting all that money off Wc3 now and since we couldn't expect an annoucment till at least E3 or Blizzcon....it would be at least 2-3 years when Wc3 is dragging in even less money..


Sc:G != Sc2. Sc:G was never even being made by Blizzard until Blizzard acquired the company and all its employees during E3 2005.

Ghost isn't cancelled, its been delayed indefinately.

Well its actually foggy if Ghost is cancelled or not. Becuase its been delayed so many times, it might of been cancelled but I doubt it, it will probablly come out in the xbox 360, and PS3 next year.

Meh, so pretty much blizzard doesnt pay to good to its workers? or something around that...

Well hellgate london is being made by the guy who created diablo hope its good , and hope it has diablo 2 type of online play but better...

WC is a bigger seller than SC, so WC will be made over SC.

I have heard much of SC2 and in my opinion think it will not come out and hope it won't ever. SC2 could actually turn out to be horrible compared to the original, and could ruin the game ultimately. Hey it might be great, who knows? Just thinking outside a box, any box will do.
