Demo:
[attachmentid=19755]
It's not much 5 levels, it's just to show you how the gameplay is.
Note: This demo is officially SUPER OLD now, so much has been changed, when you see the map when it's released your going to be like... confused.gif Don't post about the following glitches, because they're fixed!!
[up arrow glitch] hold it down = infinite ammo
[down arrow glitch] hold it down = infinite ammo
[left and right arrow glitch] Sometimes moves over 2 spaces

Any ideas or suggestions?

How is this going to work? You have a unit, who can move left or right, and pressing the right buttons will fire guns?

Can I be a tester, this looks awesome.

You're essentially a marine, enemys come at you from spawn points, you move your marine left or right with the arrow keys, and if theres no way to escape, use bombs ( down arrow ) or your machine gun ( up arrow ) bombs destroy every enemy on the screen, while your machine gun blasts only infront of you. Addition, you obviously didn't read that it was one player, I can test it myself, thanks anyways though happy.gif

I did know that it was singleplayer, but testers also give input on how to make games better.

True, I'll think about it, I'll get back to you via PM.
Here's a preview of the game, it's not much only 5 levels in it, possibly bugs, but it's just to show you the gameplay...

Will you be able to shoot multiple shots in the final version, or will it always stay as one shot? Also, moving and shooting moves your bullet to your lane sometimes. Maybe you should make the vew center on the marine rather the center of the game. It's kinda confusing to see your marine jumping around.

It looks awesome though.

Thank's for the bullet moving tip, I'm going to check that out myself. However, I can't make it center view on the marine, due to the EUDs. EUDs are focused on the location "anywhere" on the map, and so is there terrain. If i set center view on the marine, then it wouldn't be on the location "anywhere" and it would cause the EUDs to go off uncontrollably...The only way I could center view on the marine is if I scratched all EUDS in the map, and made up new ones to make it go along with the marine. Seems like a bit too much work to me, considering this is almost done mellow.gif

Well hey, lets get this topic alive shall we?

Very good concept, and interesting gameplay shifty.gif

Defently has an arcade feel to it when playing. If you havent tried it yet, I suggest you do, before it is too late biggrin.gif

This map was preaty sweet.

Found a bug though. biggrin.gif

If you repeatedly push the up arrow, your minerals will spike up, and you'll have unlimited ammo. The same trick works with bombs.

(That was for testing all the levels in the game) But don't worry, no unlimited ammo in the real game wink.gif Also guys, this game is undergoing a ton of changes, I'm adding powersups, such as invincibility for 5 seconds, side shot ( shoots horizontal and verticle for 10 seconds) A side man for 5 seconds ( who will be on your team and randomly fire things ) And me and scv_rdy2_go_sir made up these ideas along with a great story, which I'm going to make a trailor out of. Also the name of this map is going to be changed to Savior of the Stars. This is only a few of many many changes, but you'll see them all when SotS is released...

I keep downloading the demos and they both come out to be php files, not scm/sxm...

Instead of saving it as a .HTML file, save it as anyfile. You should be able to open it in StarCraft after that.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by n0b0dy- on 2006-07-04 at 12:18:55
Just right click save as, then when that box comes up change the box with HTML document to All files, at least thats what I do...

And remember to put .scx at the end...

Anyway, nice concept nobody. It runs nice and smooth. The only problem I had was with the bombs... They explode very oddly. I find myself having to use a machine gun ammo at the same time.

Otherwise, nice map.

Bombs are meant to be that way, if you time them right, they're the best thing in the game! Since they kill everything on the field, it has to take some skill to use them.
