I finally took some time to update this age-old classic.

Version 028b
» Heroes have been corrected. You can use heroes other than Infested Terrans now. tongue.gif
» The beacon is now a Templar to Archon beacon, working for both High and Dark Templar.

Version 028
» The building placement no longer sucks. Scrolling to build Zerg was stupid and a thing of the past. Say hello to an organized and standardized building placement.
» Moving your overlords into the transport area? I wouldn't try it or you'll lose them all.
» Got some hack that gives you a refinery so you can mine gas for nukes? Don't bother using it.
» Warbringer was a lame hero. Let me introduce the Infested Kerrigan.
score changes.
» 600 minerals for an Archon? Screw that. Check out the spiffy Templar to Archon beacon in the prep area for 100 minerals.
» Terrain has been modified a bit. Suicide zone is further out.
» Screwed up your first build of the game? You can now cancel it.
» Sick of those ugly upgrade icons on your other buildings? Level 2 is the default and max now.
» Double death bug screwing up your games? You can only die once now.
» A score system has been implemented to scale down higher value units. IE, a Mutalisk used to be worth 600, but now is 400. A Zergling however, is still 50. You'll figure it out. Expensive units are less devastating to lose in battle now.

Played it before. Just a bug-fixed-version really. I agree Warbringer was useless. Cheap archons makes them a lot more useful.

hey big fan of the map here.

amazing how many other people here love the map yet i have so much trouble starting games, if you like the map and are on east you've probably seen me hosting before

just wanted to say is the late game is a bit lacking sometimes when everyone has 3000 minerals and it becomes a counter map.

they have tanks i get mutas so they get goliaths so i get goons so they get... etc.

when it reaches this point there is very little micro left and it is more bland than near the start of the game.

the way points work they amount of units you create increases exponentially till it gets ridiculous and you just spam the counterattack unit until you are out of cash and unload ghost to save ur overmind.

if there were slower mineral ugprades near the start it would prolong the micro section of the game. (anyone else feel early game>late game by far?)

alsooooooo... if you are thinking 600 is too much for archon might want to make a similiar change for DA since so few people use it

also no one ever builds with miners because it's so weak(give us a mineral stack so we can use it as a tool for miner micro?? biggrin.gif)

Probes=Cannons
SCV=Repair
Drone=nothing good at all

Hooray! Now if I could only find someone to play with.

Another victory for moose! Good job with these much needed improvements.

There's creep on the sides of the map.

The Vespene Geysers are there for stack attack with workers.

People don't use DAs? HAHA. You don't play with the people I do. But yeah, I should include that on the beacon too.

Yeah, late game becomes too much massing. I have made another version where you lose 10% score on every death and your score after that determines your mineral amount. Surprisingly, it isn't so great because its a perpetual early game. When I get that adjusted there's going to be two paths, Uberena Modern and Uberena Classic.

[attachmentid=19760]You could fix this bug, it cost me a 2v1 uberena game. But then again purp sucked.

I probably would have won if i hadn't been eating the entire time.

I don't see what the bug is there, there's no reason your Overmind shouldn't have healed.

EDIT: Found the problem. New version out soon.

How do you do the stacking bug with the SCVs, Probes, or Drones.

mellow.gif

Meh.. sounds better. I say healing should cost 3 DTs. Or at least something like that.. because people heal way too often.

Critical update out. Grab it now. tongue.gif

You grab a group of peons, hold in shift, right click the vespene geyser, then while still holding in shift and before the peons reach the geyser, command the peons to repair for stack repairage, or attack somewhere and they will stack kill anything in their path. You gotta be quick though.

One small bug is when you are using drones to build sunkens/spores, if you use your last drone all of the 'colonies' dissapear.

stack attack with workers is only fun if u can make a pretty stack with minerals so they all close together. mineral would also allow you to retreat with mineral walk and not get blocked.

i use DA's usually only early game since later you'll lose too much in points and im too lazy to mix DA with goons or other stuff.

also if a magic unit is loaded into a transport and then zoned into the arena it won't get it's starting mana, sometimes i forget and i'm like wtf my mana go and i die.

if you do decide to make an uberena that focuses more on micro, greatly reducing the overminds hp would be helpful though that would require other changes i kno with nuke etc. but it would never end with 2 goons winning a battle and then getting shots on the current overmind hp. also arena size could be reduced if it were to stay in an 'early-game' state.

i really like the 10% idea cuz that punishes ppl who suicide their mutas after they kill ur tanks etc.

tho 10% might be too much of a percentage and also being a percentage it punishes the winner by docking them much more of their points on a death than the amount the low scorer would be docked.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sicarul on 2006-07-03 at 23:18:48
Well you can make a Uberena V.Mini, and there do what sirlala says... the 10% idea isn't nice for me... but some ~1-5% wouldn't be that bad...

Its either that or you just get left there and can't suicide. But hey, I've got a way around this planned already, so don't worry. smile.gif
